“Izzy?” I stood stunned in the hallway of my house, home just now from shopping with Sarah, Cora and the boys.
“Wha- what? Mum?!” I yelled, pinching my arm to see if I was dreaming or not. I just couldn’t comprehend the fact that she might actually be standing before me.
“Mum?!” I called again, actually getting some sort of response. She came, running over to me and looking back and forth between ‘Izzy’ and I.
“What’s wrong honey?” She asked concerned.
“Am I dreaming right now?” I said, looking up to her dumb founded. I heard two different sets of laughter and turned to look at my friend; of whom I was still unconvinced if she was actually here or not.
“Izzy?!” I squealed, wrapping my arms around her waist. She giggled and hugged me back.
“Well, not exactly the welcoming gesture I was expecting. But flattering none of the less.” She smiled. I smiled back at her, scrunching my nose up cheekily.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her, jumping up and down with her.
“Well we have a long weekend back up there. It was completely flooded in the school, and will take at least the week to get cleaned up.” She explained.
“What, the whole school was flooded?” I asked, curious.
“Ah-ha.” She nodded, smiling broadly.
“That’s awesome!” I cheered. “I know right!” She laughed. I hugged her again for good measure, enjoying the moment immensely. “I’ve missed you so much!” I told her, squeezing tight. It should be illegal to separate best friends for any length of time. “Not as much as I have missed you!” She said back.
I resisted the urge to argue with her, instead laughing with her. I looked to my right to see my mum staring at us with a loving grin on her face. She has always loved Izzy, as much as I do possibly. Possibly. She see’s Iz as a second daughter, part of the family basically.
“It’s good to see you so healthy Isabella. Have you been working out dear?” mum asked. Izzy’s smile grew even more.
“Yes! And look what I got!” She grinned, pulling up her shirt. 6 pairs of abs stood visible on her stomach. Not so much that it looked bad for a girl, but there so she looked really good and well defined.
“Wow! Iz!” I cheered. She has been wanting a pair for as long as I could remember. She pulled her shirt back down, laughing at my surprised face. “Told you I could do it!” She teased.
“Well, I don’t remember doubting you!” I shot back at her, laughing along.
“Haley, Kayla invited us all over for dinner tonight, she said that Isabella is invited as well and to tell you that all of your friends will be there to.” Mum smiled down at me. I grinned, loving that idea completely, but then something dawned on me. How the hell will Izzy react when she finds out that I have been hanging out with the Janoskians this whole time? She won’t be mad though, will she? Well I sure as hell hope not.
“Uh yeah, cool.” I answered back. Izzy gave me a look as opposed to ask me what was wrong but I just shrug her off, giving her a cheery smile. She smiled back at me, but raised her brow in my direction.
