                                                                    The Run Aways

“Good morning, my beautiful,” he said snatching my hand and running off to his truck through the thick rain.

Glancing behind me, she looked so happy running through the rain with me.I just remember feeling a huge rush of relief when I spotted her standing right where she said she would be, now I knew she could get me through anything.

“You look lovely today,” I told her smiling full of excitement and love.

“Well um.. thank you not so bad yourself,” she replied shyly shivering through her old Luke Bryan t-shirt I had bought her for her thirteenth birthday, and her ripped blue jeans covering the tops of black converse that I recognized so well. They were the same ones I had and I knew because we went out and bought them together and wrote our names and our fav thing we liked about each other on each other’s shoes.

“What are we learning today?” she asked her teeth chattering.

“ How to swipe away someone’s thoughts,” I replied reaching behind the seat to wrap a blanket around her to get her a little warmer.

“Oh cool, and thank you,” she said tightening the blanket around her.

“You know it’s one hundred and eighty degrees over here me being a ware wolf and all and having super powers,” I said slyly.

“Oh really,” she said smiling and cuddling up next to me resting her head on my chest and watching the rainy roads ahead.

It was a cold rainy day, but it was so bright and warm inside the car with the heat from the car and the heat from his body I shed my blanket within minutes of the drive. This was my favorite kind of weather because the gloom and the darkness made a happy impact on me and caused the whole “romantic” scene to enhance by like ten times the love. Turning to look up at him watching the road he looked down and gently kissed my forehead.

“You look warmer,” he told me.

“Well yes I feel better, best kind of weather though, don’t you think?” I asked.

“You could say that, my favorite kind of weather is any of the days we have together, weather they are sunny, snowy, rainy, or even smokey, as long as your here its like a whole flashlight of light inside me turns on,” he said so sweetly, everything just rolled of his tounge, he just had me in a trance as he leaned in and kissed me with his damp rainy lips.

“Your such a cheese ball, but your my cheese ball,” I said laughing at him.

“Ha one more reason to love me,” he said cocking his head up.

“Your so full of yourself, but yes and so many other reasons to,” I said snuggling up closer to him.

“Well why don’t you tell me some then,” he said winking at me.

“Okay, well your smile isn’t half bad, your humor is fine and ya you yourself is okay I guess,” I said giving him a sarcasmed look.

“Oh wow I thought those were things you loved, about me not things you thought were, okay.. about me,” he said looking out the window fakely apolled.

Looking over at him he smiled and leaned over to change the radio station, and when we looked up I tried to scream for my life before a dump truck knocked us off the road after we had swerved into it’s lane.

“Ki look out,” was the last words I said to him that wasn’t me crying out for him.

The car stopped flipping when we hit a light pole near by, I noticed as I was opening my eyes. Looking over I noticed Kerena was not in the passenger seat, and the seatbelt had been ripped out of the holder. Blood lined a whole in the windshield where she must have flown through. Opening the door, and getting out of the car I fell to the ground not noticing my leg had almost snapped in two. Dragging it behind me I crawled around searching for my childhood sweetheart, praying no matter how bad the injury she was still alive and kicking.
