Ch 4: Diagon Alley

Later that day .. I went out into Diagon Alley
to pick up a gift for Severus for his birthday

I still remember the tragedy that happened here..

I still tread the streets with caution..
I still have bad nightmares to this day..
I keep reliving that night, all the 'what if's' has me wondering, grasping at straws.. thinking of what could have been..

I wandered down the main street of Diagon Alley, looking for a gift for Severus.

As I'm walking down the street, my eyes catch a glimpse of something in a store window catching my attention straight away

The sign read: Potage's Cauldron Shop

Ooh! A black cauldron!! This is the perfect gift for Severus! He's gonna love it :)

I ran up to the store and pull the door handle setting off a little brass bell with velvet rope suspending itself above the front door

"Hello! Welcome to our shop! Let me know if you need any help!" I heard an older lady say in a cheerful tone

I looked up at the counter from across the room to see a sweet old woman with grey & white hair tucked into a bun. She had brown glasses and she was wearing a white blouse with lilacs on it.

"Hello! Yes, that would be wonderful"
I said smiling, walking towards the counter

"That Cauldron in the window- it's magnificent! It would make the perfect gift!"
I motioned towards the neatly-placed black cauldron in the storefront window.

"Oooh, you've got good eyes young lady, a gift for someone special I presume?"

Such a sweet old lady..
-I thought to myself

"You could say that I suppose.." I said while a light-pink blush crept onto my cheeks.

"Who's the lucky fellow?"
She smiled softly while ringing up the cauldron

"I-erm.. well h-he's just a friend.." I was barley able to get those words out. I was so anxious

I paid her and she put the cauldron in a gift bag and stuffed some black tissue-paper in it

"Right then, we'll best of luck to you I suppose!"

"Right, thanks again!" I said smiling at her while turning to leave the shop

"Come again anytime!" I heard the old woman say as I turned the corner out the door.
