We didn't need vehicles, we were fast enough on rooftops. I have been the leader since the group started, but Rick was my second in command, my stepbrother. "Rick behind me, Bruce behind Takeda, Takeda behind Rick" I ordered. "Right!" Bruce said "Whatever you say brother" Takeda retorted. "Alright, let's take Kano in guys" I said. We all had nicknames from the Shirai, Bruce was Dragon, Takeda was smoke, Rick was Flare, and I was Chains. We all controlled fire, our nicknames came from how we used it. Bruce could breathe fire.
Takeda could make large clouds of smoke and knock out enemies with smoke, Rick could stun enemies with large flares that he would shoot into the air with his hands. I could super heat my chain knives to melt anything, I could also had an ability called "afterimage" I could make clones of myself that would distract enemies. We only used our codenames when in fights. We came up on the bank, on the roof of the building across the street, we used our chain knives to swing across. "Ok we go in silently, take out the grunts, then get Kano" I whispered.
"Got it" the others whispered all together. We entered through a ventilation shaft from the roof. The bank was made up of about 30 rooms with various citizen's accounts, the roof of those rooms was the perfect place to wait for Kano. Me and Takeda went together, and Bruce and Rick went together, me and Takeda knocked out all of the guys on our half of the bank, then tied them all up in a group in one of the rooms. We then went back to the roof of the account rooms, Bruce came back, alone. "They got Rick" he said, shaken. We all looked as Rick was dragged by his shoulders to Kano's feet, held up by Kano's grunts, his face was bloodied and he was barely breathing. "Well well well, what do we have here? A member of the Scorpion four?" Kano said, his Australian accent very thick.
"Screw you Kano" Rick said, spitting at Kano. "Goodbye Flare" Kano said.
Then he shot a Lazer from his eye directly in to Rick's chest, burning a hole straight through, disintegrating his entire heart. "No!" "Rick!" Bruce screamed. Kano's men started shooting at us, Takeda made a smoke cloud, allowing us to get to a safe point, then, I went into what we called "hellfire mode" a rage filled flurry of fire and knives, killing all of Kano's soldiers. Then I threw I knife into each of Kano's knees, I took off my mask, to reveal my face had turned into a flaming skull, "Kano, you are condemned to the depths of the Netherrealm, by Lord Raiden" then I proceeded to throw a flaming chain knife through Kano's forehead and pull it back out. It went clean through, burning anything that would have been pulled back out. Then I threw a fire ball on to his body, setting him on fire, "That was for Rick!" I yelled, back in my normal human state. Then I knelt down to Rick's body, "you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten, farewell brother" I said, sadly. "Cops! Let's go!" Takeda exclaimed. We all swing back up to the ceiling, and escaped. Two weeks later Rick's death was on the news, and instead of saying hero or savior, they described him as a dangerous vigilante/ criminal. We were all outraged by this.
