Everything was great until the fire nation attacked. The "Governor" as he called himself, decided to destroy the prison. It was horrible, he killed so many people. Everyone got seperated... Including me and Carl. Everyone ran from the prison while Rick managed to save Hershel.

I've been on my own. Again. But this time, without weapons (except for a screwdriver) and only enough food for 5 days. I grabbed some water bottles and 2 cans of beans, but that was all I was able to get that hectic day.

I knock on the door, seeing if any walkers come up, then open the door. "Anyone home?" I make a quick swipe of the house and sit down. "Wow, nice place you had here.. Before all the uh-death." I say, taking my jacket and wiping some blood off the leather couch.

Looks like a kid lived here, either that or a hurricane. I mean, it could've been swept before I got here of all the supplies, but there are toys everywhere and stuff that just wouldn't be there if there wasn't a child.

"Help! Help!" Someone shouts from outside. I stand up quickly, putting my jacket back on. I walk out onto the front porch and see a young man, frantically trying to kick a walker away from his legs. "Please-" he kicks its head in, jumping to his feet.

"Hey! Watch out, behind you!" I yell at him, he looks at me then behind him, where a walker grabs him, almost biting into him. "Oh, come on." I jump off the railing, running to him. I kick the walker away from him, stomping his head in.

"Are-Are you okay?" I ask, brushing my hair out of my face. He wipes the sweat from his forehead, then looks me in the eyes. "Thank you. Oh god, thank you." He embraces me in a hug. I stutter, trying to find some words and trying to find my way out of this guy's arms.

The kid is probably around my age, maybe a year or two older. He's Asian, with black hair and dark eyes. "Oh uh, sorry." He let's me go, seeing me struggling to get out of his grip. "It's.. It's fine. Uh, what's your name?" He smiles a bit. "Remmy, yours?"
"Ethan."

Honestly, it felt weird to be hugged by someone other than Carl. "Well, Remmy, nice to meet you." I say, shaking his hand. "By the way, how old are you?" I ask.
"I've lost count, how many years has it been since everything started?"
"About 5 or 6." I mutter, looking to the side.

"I must be 15 or 16." He whispers, running a hand through his hair. "I wanted to celebrate my birthday with Julie, but she's gone now."

"I'm sorry about this Julie person, but we have to get somewhere safe. Your screaming attracted walkers." I say, grabbing his arm and pulling him into a house a few houses down from the one I was at last.

"Ethan- Was it?" I nod. "How old are you?"
"Seventeen."
"Oh. Cool."

From then on, it was quite awkward. I made him sit in the living room and look for stuff that could be useful to us there while I searched the rest of the house for walkers and such. "Remmy, find anything?" I yell from upstairs. "No." He yells back.

"Well-yes!" He yells after a few seconds. I walk downstairs to see him holding some cans of food. "Oh, thank god." I smile wide, grabbing one and looking at Remmy. He smiles back, stuffing the rest in his backpack.

"I'm going upstairs, get the rooms ready for a night." I say, "Do you want to heat up the beans?" He nods and grabs a lighter and shuffles to the kitchen.

There are three rooms upstairs. Honestly, I'm not scared of Remmy. He doesn't give off any red flags and he doesn't seem like a threat (only to the walkers, he is). I clean up the rooms, two of the rooms had walkers in them so i killed them quickly and blocked the doorways off from the rest of the house.

"Ethan, food is ready." Remmy calls from downstairs. I walk down the stairs to see the table cleared off with the beans in two bowls and spoons. "Wow, it feels like im back at the prison. Carl.." I mutter, picking up the spoon.

Before I even realize it, tears start falling from my eyes. "Ethan? Are you okay?" Remmy looks scared, I just nod. "I'm just... remembering old times I had with someone special." I say, wiping my tears. "Alright. Lets eat." I half smile. "Cheers. To a new friend." I raise my bowl up and cheers with his bowl. "Cheers." He smiles, starting to eat.

"Ethan, guess what I found!" Carl yells, running up to me. "What?" I smile, he kisses me on the cheek, taking a photo with a Polaroid camera. "Whoa! Where did you get that?"

"Glenn found it and thought we would like it." He smiles. "My turn!" I kiss him on the cheek, he shoots a silly face at the camera this time and takes the picture. "You keep this one." He says, giving me the picture of him kissing me. "Just in case anything happens... I want you to remember me."

"I love you."

When Remmy and I finish eating, I go into the bathroom up stairs. I take a picture out of my pocket, it's the one Carl gave me. I flip it around, seeing writing. It reads, "I love you, Ethan. -Carl" with a heart beside it.

More tears decide to fall. "Why.. Why did this happen?" I fall to the floor, looking at the picture in my hand. "Carl-" I grab my face, tears start falling harder, it's getting harder to breath.

Remmy knocks at the door. "I'm going to sleep. I'll see you in the morning." He says, then leaves the door. I stop for a second then shake my head. "If only you were here." I mutter, wiping the tears from my eyes once again.

After a few minutes I collect myself and join Remmy in the bedroom that I cleared out. (We sleep in the same room because there were no bodies in there and he didn't want to sleep where there was blood. Wimp- says the boy who was crying over his boyfriend being gone.

I lay down beside Remmy after I double checked the locked widows and covered the door with a bookshelf. I sigh, covering myself with a blanket. I think Remmy is already asleep before he rolls over to face me. "Thank you." He whispers.

"Why? I didn't do anything. I just warned you." I whisper back. He nods, we end up just looking at eachother for a while. It's not awkward, but comfortable. After a hot second I realize that it should nbe awkward, so I quickly say "Goodnight," and roll over to face the wall.

I hear him chuckle a bit before he rolls over as well, facing away from me. After a few minutes he starts to snore quietly. Great. He snores.

But so do I. Then I fall asleep.

 Then I fall asleep
