LGBT+ Representation in Mass Media

FILM

Nagkakaroon parin ng negative depiction ang LGBT+ sa mga pelikula or series na pinapapnood natin. National or International level. Yung mga negative depiction na to is somewhat focus on such portrayals that marginalize and silence the LGBT+ community. Especially sa mga Hollywood films lesbians and gay men during this periosd lacked any complex characters development. Sila yung parang nakikita as someone or something as laughable. Ngayon sa Philippines cinema hindi mawawala ang mga komedyanteng bading kasi they see gays or lesbians as materials for a film to give colors. Syempre unang una na jan si Vice Ganda, we an often see her sa mga film festival or cameo sa mga teleserye kasi she is a comedian and that's a stereyotype nap ag bading ka dapat nakakatawa ka or katawatawa ka. Another scenario na makikita natin sa mga films ay yung mga representation na gay or lesbian. Ngayon kasi automatic nap ag bakla ka the way you dress, the way yung speak and the way you move dun na agad malalaman nang tao na "Ay bakla siya?!" and that is something na madaling na-aadapt ng viewers.

MOVIEW REVIEW!

Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (2013)

The title puts the idea of differing sexulaties right up front, pero hindi talaga na highlight ng movie yung idea ng LGBT+. But it is instead a fairly dramatic grounded family drama. The film doesn't really make a big deal out of the different sexual orientation of the characters. May mga ibang scene na cacapitalize yung differences nila between them, but the film really much more of a family drama and how it bonds them as a family. GBBT is a really solid offering.this movie does have a heart. People find the title off but the movies itself is reallyb nice.

The movie is indeed a good offering to families who have LGBT+ child that whatever gender or sexualties your child has, it will always fall to the love, acceptance and support of the family. The very essence of this film is to see how different genders come together in one context and how we should see the very idea of acceptance in the family. Being gay or lesbian in a family is not "pabingat" it is not a disgrace in the family as long as your parents, sibilings get to catch the very idea of ACCEPTANCE.

Die Beautiful (2016)

This films celebrates an entraaliingly colorful universe where hardships and happiness seamlessly converge. Itong film talaga na to ang nagpa mukha sa samabayanang tao na ang pagiging bakla ay hindi masama at hindi nakaksira sa imahe ng society. The film aimply does not shy away the very idea of conflicts and dilemmas that a gay community consistently face. Paolo Ballesteros or "Trisha Echevarria" in the movies a transgender who disowned by hisrich father and survived on his own byb joining beauty pageants. Typical struggles of a transgender were even emphasis in the film: Discrimination from the family, from the community, and from men. The title is "Die Beautiful" because it shows his life in a throwback form: nagsimula siyang patay sa kwento.

Die Beautiful is indeed a heartwarming and dramatic film. The Filipino film industry has been known to be lackluster. Its list of LGBT+ movies is not that impressive, a lot of its steryotypical and borderline are offensive. However, Die Beautiful puts a new taste and a ge, to the Filipino Cinemas. Napaka relevant ng issue important to the world today and sabi ko nga very heartwarming. It's a film of love, friendship, romantic, and familial.

Baka Bukas (2016)

This film is all about a girl who falls inlove with her bestfriend of the same sex. Alex (played by Jasmine Curtis) feeling for Jess (played by Louisse Delos Reyes) not only upsets their dynamic as friends, but causes h=jess to question her own sexuality too. But what I love about this film is all about depicting lesbian relationships as a beautiful, tender bond between two people who deserve to love and be loved openly. Despite their unconventional romantic choices. And the fact that it did so without pondering to the very idea of stereotype of the lesbian as a women who looks and acts like a man is a bold statement that seems to say.
