Final Thoughts

A/N - Okay this is based on the AMAZING video game, Shadow of the Colossus. If you haven't played it and you have a PS2 or a PS3 go buy it and play it. If you can't, well google is your friend. This is based around the final scene of the game so spoilers will occur, don't get mad at me, I warned you. Also if you want character images just search Wanda and Mono Shadow of the Colossus. My skin feels rough, my breaths are uneven.

My vision fades then brightens.

I lie on the cold stone floor, my only warmth comes from the blood that seeps from where the blade pierced my stomach.

I feel dizzy, sick...

I turn my head to the side, I see the temple man and his guards study the broken statues and the centre pedestal.

Their bodies block my gaze, I can't see if all I've been through has paid off.

I can't see my dear Mono.

They better not do anything to her.

I won't let them harm her.

With strength I thought was long gone I push myself up to my feet.

I pull the sword out of my gut and throw it to the side.

Their attention is averted to me, the temple man signals the men to shoot at me.

Arrows hit me me in several areas, but I keep walking forward.

I know I'm going to die, I want to see her one last time.

I did this all for her and I might never see the fruits of my labour.

One last arrow strikes me and I'm at my limit. I can't go on.

I collapse.

I'm dying.

I hear Dormin's voice in my head, he speaks in a language that I can no longer understand.

At last, I feel the darkness consume me.

Change me.

Bend me.

I hear the temple man and his guards scatter and step backwards, what's going on?

I open my eyes and see what has happened.

Dormin himself has possessed my body, my soul.

But I'm in control still. Revenge, yes.

I slowly make my way towards them, my footsteps are heavy and cause the ground itself to shake.

So this is what it's like to be the colossi I have slain.

I bash my fists to the ground near them, stomp my feet, try to do damage.

They run away scared.

They leave the pedestal and run for the entrance stairs to cross the only bridge, the only exit.

I walked on that bridge, it seems so long ago but everything is drawn out now.

I try to follow them, I'm slow.

I then turn and make my way to Mono, I want to see her.

I want to see her alive once more, I want to see her smile.

I've already lost my closet company Agro to journey, I won't lose you as well.

I feel my size decrease, the shadows are being pulled away from my body.

I turn to see how it's happening.

The temple man preformed a sealing enchantment, he's going to seal Dormin,

And me.

After a few seconds I'm back to my original form, however the shadows still cling to my skin.

I try to run, run towards Mono, I need to see her!

No matter how hard I try I can't reach her, I can't see what I love dearest.

I brought her here to resurrect her, so this is the price Dormin talked about in the beginning.

My own life.

I feel tears stream down my face, I feel myself draw closer to the vortex behind me.

I stretch my arm out, hoping it will bring me closer to her.

It doesn't.

I try to scream her name but no sound comes.

The shadows dig themselves into my flesh, they don't want me to live.

I fall to the ground, I can't get back up.

I'm being pulled to my own death.

I look up, I finally see her body.

I see her beautiful hair and pale skin.

I see her for the last time.

Mono, don't forget about me.

Please live.

I did this all for you, as long as you live I don't care what happens to me.

I feel my self get pulled backwards into the portal, it's energy sears my flesh.

Goodbye Mono, never forget.

Never forgot of our memories,

Our love.

I am happy with these final thoughts.

I have fulfilled my one goal.
