Nightmare

Y/n's POV

The dark sky grew darker as the cold winter filled the air. He was coming, and every minute past by made my anxiety overwhelm me even more. Bum-bum. My heart beated. I felt nothing inside except the feeling of defeat and the pebbles that were sinking into my skin as we continued to sit still on our knees; just waiting for death to come. Bum-bum.

"He'll be here any minute now!" one of the men said. The men continued to stare at us as they held the guns in their hands. I slightly peaked over my right side at my Dad, Rick, who was next to me. He didn't look strong or seemed stubborn, he looked broken, defeated, and scared.

A tear slid down his cheek as he continued to look down at the ground. Every breath he took was small or deep. The little incoragement that was still inside of me faded as I stared at my Dad. He was one of the people that truly encouraged me when bad times came: even though we don't really talk that much anymore ever since my mom died.

If my father can do it then I can too, but this time was different, like he didn't know what to do. Shit - I don't even know what to do. None of us do. I looked at Glenn, who was taking deep breaths as he stared at the ground then looked up at me.

He slightly nods with the smallest smile. I slightly smile back. Glenn was the nicest person you'll ever meet. He was one of the people I could talk to. He was like a brother to me. He looked over at Maggie who was next to Carl, my one year older brother.

I looked down as time continued to tick by. Bum-bum. I felt a hand slowly slide its way into mine and gave me a resuring squeeze. I peaked over my left side to see Elijah, my best friend. My heart thumped as we stared into each others eyes. He continued to hold my hand as he formed a small smile on his face.

An RV pulled up, blinding us with the headlights. I pulled my hand back and looked down, closing my eyes. "Here's the man!" one of the men said as he banged on the door twice. Bum-bum bum-bum! Seconds have passed by as we waited for death. Bum-bum bum-BUM CABOOM! My heart sank as he walked out; swinging his barbwired bat.

"We pissin' our pants yet," he said with a grin, walking towards us. A chuckled flew out of his mouth. "Boy, I do have a feeling we're getting close!" He looked at us as his leather black boots hit the rocky ground. "Now," he pointed his bat at us. "Which one of you pricks is the leader?" "This one sir!" one of his said as he pointed at my Dad.
