The doctor said I'd be healed in three-four weeks, but I healed within just less that two. It must have been some sort of miracle. The second I was healthy and my casts where taken off I started to pack my stuff. I had to be gone two days before my dad was out of prison, and I still had to find a house my mom said she would buy me. I found a cheap house and settled on that, but then I was also had to deal with getting furniture there or waiting until the day I arrived. It was a mess. Aphmau's mother agreed to let her go with me anywhere as long as she made sure she was safe. I promised her that Aphmau would be, and she seemed excited.
The day of leaving Phoenix Drop came around quickly. Aphmau drove from Falcon Claw University with her stuff early in the morning like I suggested. We lifted all our Suitcase's into my car so we could go there in only one. We chose to take a boat to Scaleswind then drive to O'Khasis. We chose to spend the four hours left in Phoenix Drop with my family because I wouldn't be able to see them for ten years at the least. Aphmau could come back at any point in time. I was depressed the entire time but I tried to be happy for Melissa, Aphmau, FC, and my mom. I couldn't help but cry when we had to leave for the boat. I held onto my mom tight, but let go when I started to be forced away. It wasn't easy.
FC was fine during the boat trip to Scaleswind. He didn't try or start yelling or try to get out of his seat. I was curled up in my seat the entire time, crying quietly and worrying still. Aphmau tried to comfort me but it didn't go so well since she couldn't get out of her seat. When I sat up, she took the chance to sit on my lap and hug me. "We'll be okay..."
"I-I know... Just going to miss my family..."
"Hey..! You'll get to see them in like ten years, when your dad will hopefully be calmer and you won't be under his control."
"That's still ten years..!"
"Okay, we'll make it seven. You'll be 30 then."
"Fine..."
"Hey, cheer up!" She said, kissing my cheek.
"Sorry..." I said with a small sigh, doing the same back to her.
"It’s okay." She shrugged it off, blushing a little.
The years passed like a snail. Slow and annoying. Good things came out of it, Aphmau got a whole bunch of new friends, and so did I. I proposed to her after we both finished college, on the roof of our house. I can still remember the moment she said yes, and what happened the same night. We got married half a year later, but didn't invite anybody since we had to re-marry when we went to Phoenix Drop again. We'd make everything special then. But when we came back from our honeymoon in Scaleswind, the babysitter who was looking after him wasn't there, and neither was FC.
We went ballistic, thinking the babysitter had kidnapped him. After a few minutes we found a note on the dining table. "APHMAU!" I yelled when I found it, picking it up.
"WHAT?!" She ran over, staring at it. "What is that..?"
"You read it." I said, giving it to her fast.
"Uh..." She quickly opened it and began to read it out. Sorry if you're back already, I wasn't sure when you'd be back! I took FC out to the park for food and some fun, and should be back around 6. -Betty.
"Oh thank god!" I yelled, sitting at one of the chairs.
"Yeah!" She sat in the other, face planting the table.
"Aphmau?"
"Huh?" She slowly looked up at me, confused.
"I love you, you know."
She smiled and sat up, nodding. "I love you too."
