Garrett

I wanted to tell him that it was a joke, but if I'm being completely honest, the look on his face when he heard me say that I had a boyfriend was the most I'd gotten out of him in weeks. He cared about me, I could see it in his eyes, the light that'd once been there disappeared and I could read him like the back of my hand.

He liked me.

I could tell.

But he'd never admit it, and I knew it.

I shouldn't like him back, not after all of the things he'd said to me, screamed at me. I should feel the opposite of what I feel which was joy, happiness, electricity. He made me feel alive, the way he looked at me lit a fire inside of me, one that wasn't going to be put out anytime soon. I'd gone soft at first, surprising him with breakfast at his place, even apologizing for something that I knew wasn't my fault. Anything to get him to kiss me again, God, he made me feel so good all the time.

So, when I told him that I had a boyfriend and when I'd seen the look in his eyes I'd been ecstatic.

Andrew Siwicki liked me, Andrew Siwicki was jealous.

I watch as he fiddles with his pen, chewing on his lower lip. I decide not to pay him any attention, flipping my attention back to my computer screen. Also, I didn't need him asking any questions about my "boyfriend". Sure, I'd been on the phone with a boy, but he wasn't my boyfriend, far from it actually. Matt really was the best roommate, and I'd have to apologize later for the confusion, but I'm sure after I explained everything, he'd be fine. Hell, maybe he'd even go along with it, at least for a little while.

"So,"

I look up from my computer, but only for a second as if not to seem too interested. He continues, his eyes trained on me.

"You have a boyfriend."

It's a statement, but I know he's looking for a confirmation.

"Not that it's any of your business," I feel bad for lying, but the satisfaction of seeing him in this much discomfort was worth it. "But, yes, I do."

"Cool."

I continue typing on my computer, not wanting to have to answer any extra questions, I hadn't even come up with a decent lie. My phone buzzes, once, twice, three times, and I know that it's Matt.

What the hell?

Babe?

You know I support you, but I have a girlfriend, Gare.

I can see Andrew becoming even more flustered with every text and I can't help but grin, this was amazing.

I respond I know! I'm sorry, I'll tell you later, trust me, I know you have a girlfriend, the walls are very thin.

I grin at the message because, God, I was hilarious.

"While we've been?"

I slide my phone back into my pocket, looking back up at Andrew, his eyes still trained and unmoving.

"Hmm? Did you say something?"

"No."

It's eating him alive; I just know it, there's no way it couldn't be.

"So you're telling me that you've been dating people while we've been messing around?" His voice is hushed, and I can tell he's getting angry.

Cute, I like it.

"Yes! I already told you this, it's not like we were official or anything, you made that extremely clear actually." I mean, I wasn't wrong, he'd definitely made it very clear that we weren't exclusive, that this was clearly for his benefit.
