I just got out of work. I was on my way home and I passed by August's house. He stood up and asked me for a ride and this time I said yes. I got in his car and he turned the radio down low...it was like a whisper.

"so..how is you and Lucas" he said with his strong accent

"um..okay I guess" I said not really wanting to answer his question

It got quiet for a minute until he got looked at me for a minute and blurted out.

"why are you with em??"

I just looked at him. I didnt know what to say. I just starred back into his pretty brown eyes. 

"I mean he treats you like a dog...He beats you...he ont give a shit"

My eyes started to water. Soon I was crying hard. He pulled over and turned off the car.

" I aint mean to make you cry...I was just telling you how it is...he ont deserve you...you are beautiful and if he ont get it together someone else gonna steal you from him" he said then winked

I smiled and wiped my tears. Me and August swung by McDonalds and got something to eat before he took me home. Before I opened the door he turned me to face him and pulled me into a hug. He pulled away then looked in my eyes. He leaned in and I leaned in meeting his lips. He pulled away from the kiss and whispered in my ear.

"ont forget..you can call me"

"okay" I whispered and watched him go back to his car. When he pulled out the drive way I opened the door. Lucas sat on the couch watching tv. He got up and walked towards me. He looked in my eyes then slapped me making me fall to the floor. I held my face as he started kicking me. I cried for him to stop but he kept on. He finally stopped and walked out the front door slamming it. I heard the car door shut. I got my phone and ran upstairs locking the door. I texted august telling him what happened.
