Taken

"Where are we going? Why can't I see anything?" Monse says.

"This one talks a lot." Looks like we will need to keep our eyes on her," says one of the unknown kidnappers.

Jamal, Ruby, Cesar, and Monse are sitting in the back of a van, tied up and trapped. One minute they were walking and the next minute they're being taken for no apparent reason. The car comes to a stop and they are now being pulled out of the van and forced to walk to some discrete building. They get to the building and they are forcefully set down into individual chairs with their hands tied back so they can't escape. The kidnappers remove the black bags over their head so that can properly speak to them.

The building is dark, wet and filled with dust, like it has been abandoned for years. You can see the piles of old construction tools and materials all around the building, indicating they have given up on the project. 

"What do you want from us?" Jamal yells. " I don't know who you are but I didn't do anything. And my friends haven't either."

Footsteps are heard from a distance and come clacking into the room to see what's going on. A man, old but looks young, walks into the room. He's dressed in a black suit and walks with a gold pimp stick, even though you can clearly tell that he doesn't need it.

"Settle down, settle down children " the man says. "You have taken something from me and I would gladly like for you to return it to me. Just hand over my money and you're free to go."

The gang looks back at one another confused as to why this man is asking for money. Jamal then goes "What money? We don't have any money. I didn't find anything and I don't know anything. You must have got us mistaken for someone else. There was nothing left of the rolle...." After what Jamal said he releases he may have just cost the gang their life.

"Oooh so the little talkative knows something. Let's keep him. The others are free to go," the man says. With that Ruby, Monse, and Cesar are taken out of the abandoned building and put into the back of a van. After a couple of blocks, the van stops and the back of it opens up and the gang is thrown on to the side of the street and watch as the van drives away.

"What are we going to do? They still have Jamal. We have to save him," Monse says.

Cesar goes "First we need to get back home so that we can tell someone what happened. I just hope that when we rescue him we're not too late."

As the gang starts to walk, they realize they were dropped off where they were taken. After everything that has happened, everyone is a little spooked about everything. They realized now that they have to be careful because they really don't know who's watching them.

"Monse are you really leaving. You can't just leave after everything we've been through," Ruby says as they start walking home.

Monse responds "I don't know anymore. I can't just leave knowing that Jamal is still stuck their with who knows who. Everything's fuzzy now and I just need to figure out what I'm going to do."

"I knew you were going to stay," Cesar interjects.

"Even though I'm staying for now doesn't mean that we are going to be getting back together anytime soon," Monse says.

"So we will get back together is what I am hearing correctly," Cesar responds.

Monse quickly responds "I didn't mean it like that. what you did was just... unacceptable. I've forgiven you but I don't know what's going to happen in the future."

"You two get a room," Ruby interjects.

Cesar and Monse look at Ruby with an angry glare and stop walking back home.

"It's not like you two haven't done it before. I know you guys had to be getting it in when you weren't around," Ruby says as he stops in his tracks.

"You don't know anything. We haven't done anything. Right now I think it's best that we stay single and just try and be friends," Monse lashes back at Ruby.

"Remember Brentwood and those girls and 'Never Have I Ever'. You said it yourself that you're not a virgin and if you put two and two together... it points to you and Cesar," Ruby replies.

Cesar goes "Monse I thought we weren't telling anyone. You broke your promise."

Monse says "That was when we were on a break. And it's not like I told the whole school. it was when Ruby and Jamal came and visited me in Brentwood. I don't think it's a huge problem because we weren't together then and we aren't together right now. "

"So then what about when we made out at the baby shower when we were putting together the crib. We're we really together or was it just nothing," Cesar utters.

"Wait you guys made out in my room?" Ruby questions.

Monse answers " That's besides the point. We were together but that was before everything had came out about you sleeping with Paula."

"Wait you slept with Paula, from Dwayne's, that used to work at Jamal's dad's restaurant. Oh that's cold. At least have the decency to be faithful like Monse and not just have sex with the first person that tells you all the right things and changes everything that you're going to do. Be sensible Cesar, even I know not to do that," Ruby suggests.

Monse says "Thank you Ruby. At least someone has the decency to see from my perspective. Cesar you should take notes because this is the second time you've done something like this."

"Yeah but what about the guy from Brentwood. Whatever happened between him and you. Did you sleep with him?" Cesar retorts.

"Of course not. I would never do that. You know that I love you and I would never want to hurt you. Even after everything," Monse finishes.

Monse and Cesar are now staring at each other with the intent of something going to happen.

Ruby interjects "Will you two just kiss and makeup. We've made no progress in getting home with the exception of you two bickering and I just want to sleep... in peace."

The three of them start to walk again. They walk non silence not knowing if it is safe to say anything after the whole Monse-Cesar debacle. Finall the reach to Ruby's house first.

"None of y'all call me, text me, nothing. I will be getting my beauty sleep after hanging out with you guys for the night. You two need to talk it out cause I am done playing the therapist. Peace!" Ruby says as he walks into his room.

Monse and Cesar then walk to Monse's house. She looks over to the house and sees that it's still dark from since she left that morning. It's clear her dad has gone on a long haul and won't be back for a couple of days.

As Monse turns to open the gate to her house, Cesar goes "Can we talk..."
