After, an ocean of love
waves of pain endured
After, millions of poetry,
thousands of paragraphs of letters,
a year full of songs,
the cities of lights,
all the long walk and the crossroads,
towers of drinks,
a lungful of nicotine,
After, all the smiles and all the tears
After, all the bricks in the walls are in pieces
After, the long-felt unrequited moments of waiting
After, all of these promises,
all the plans made with your presence in it,
After, all this feeling of wanting to feel wanted,
wanting to just be loved.
To just, simply wanting you to come hold me, and tell me
that everything will be fine.
After all of it,
I am just
not enough to make someone to want to stay.
