A/N lol, a bit late, but this is the next year, they're in grade seven.
Esmeralda's POV
I've tried everything.
Making her jealous, talking to her sweetly and even kissing her. She doesn't like me back still?
Laira can be so stubborn sometimes. I pick up my books and walk to industrial arts. Laira walks right past me and starts talking excitedly to Alen. I scowl. Does she like him intead of me? Questions are whizzing through my head. Alen starts putting some bounce in his pace and gigantic grin spread across his face. Laira gave him a warm smile and slipped her fingers through his.
Ooh, I hate him.
Alen/Alenna's POV
I feel more comfortable walking like this. I like bouncing. Bouncing and smiling. I'm glad Laira said she would defend me if anyone made fun.
I looked back to see if any of Laira's friends were behind me. Esmeralda was there, looking like she just tasted something bitter, sour and salty all at the same time. Then, I realized something else. She was looking at ME with that face. I frown.
"Damn, Esmeralda has no f's to give today," I mumble. Laira heard me and levitated me.
"Hey!" I shouted. I felt the white Gemini sign on my wrist burn as it glowed. My twin sister (duh, you didn't think a Gemini wouldn't have a twin?) who was walking by at the moment, found the situation very amusing. She left a little rain cloud floating above my head. I heard a thunder crack. I pointed at my sister and did the same thing to her. I felt myself falling. The last thing I remember before all there was, was a thump, and I blacked out.
Laira's POV
I looked at what had cut off the connection of my levitation. A tree. I look tithe side nervously. Esmeralda was there, laughing.
"Alen has no chance of surviving that!" She giggled. Tears come to my eyes.
"He will," I say.
"Mister bouncy has let's say this much chance: slim to none and slim left town." My hands clench into fists.
"She didn't deserve that," said the girl who had put the rain loud above his head. She pointed at the ground and started spinning her hand in a circle.
"That could catch him, too, don't" I say. I walk over to Alenna. I suddenly realize I called herhe instead of she.
"Sorry," I whisper in her ear. The girl blew Esmeralda away, and walked up to me. She extended her hand for a handshake.
"My name is Alana. I'm Alenna's twin sister," Alana and Alenna? Confusing much? I levitate Alenna to the nurse's office. She stares, wide-eyed at me. I roll my eyes.
"There are earth, fire, and water people too. Get used to it." I say. The nurse picks Alenna up and lays him down on the bed. She notices his Gemini symbol... Wait, he's like me? And so is his sister? Wait until I tell Caira! (Laira's twin) I continue my path towards industrial arts.
***at ind. arts***
I watch as Esmeralda perfectly manipulates the wood into a designed bench. I frown, looking at my crooked, ugly bench. I listen to the noise of the sander.
I wonder if Alenna's okay?
Alenna's POV
I wake up, not knowing where I am.
Or who I am.
I look at my left wrist. An odd symbol is there. Two horizontal lines with two vertical lines in between. I feel horrible. I try to talk, butmy throat hurts to much to speak. A nurse comes in. Or is she something else? I honestly can't tell anymore. I want to get out of here. I point to the door.
"What?" The nurse person says, "speak up child!" I glare at her. I can't. I try to tell her I want out by pointing towards the door and making a motion as if I were to open it. To my surprise, the door actually opens. My eyes widen in shock.
Does that odd symbol have to do with this?
