Reverse (JonDami)

Breath 8

The first thing Damian remembered was the loud shouting and the sounds of lasers.

Vision spotting black- Damian rubbed them and blinked his vision clear before he gasped, "Jon!"

Jonathan was lying on the ground, unconscious with a shard of kryptonite near him.

Damian hastily grabbed the shard, piercing his fingers as he did so and tossed the sharp gemstone away, "Jon? Jon? Wake up!"

Jon grumbled incoherently until he suddenly snapped awake and sat up quickly, "Dami! Are you okay??"

"Yes, I think so, what happened?" Damian questioned as he looked around the wrecked apartment with fear building in his heart.

"The league found out where you were and came to take you back. Dick tasked me to protect you (which I would've done anyways) but he and Jamie fought them off for a bit until Batman showed up with Red Hood and Red Robin," Jon explained.

That explains the laser sounds... Damian winced and held his head, he felt something sticky and looked at the blood on his fingers.

"You must've smacked your head when your mother threw you into the wall..." Jon explained awkwardly.

"I've failed her... and the league..." Damian's expression was downcast. His family hated him.

"Dami... they failed you. They never let you be a regular kid..." Jon spoke softly, gently tugging Damian into a hug.

Damian couldn't reply, but he hugged back nonetheless.

After a few moments Damian asked, "where's Grayson and Jamie?"

"I think they went to the manor, Jamie might still be there, though Dick went out to fight so he may still be out." Jon replied with a faint shrug.

Damian stood up, wobbling a bit, "I will not be weak. Let us go search for them." He growled as he went to his room, pulling open his closet and threw on the cloak he sworn he would throw away.
