Part6: A Break In Thoughts

I wake up. I'm in my bed, in my room, my project is finished. I get up and rush to the mirror, no bruise.... Maybe it was all a dream? No, my clothes are wet from the light rain last night, and I've scrapes on my knee from the road. So I did confront him, but how's I get back here.... I shake my head of the thughts and look at the clock I have above my microwave.

"SHIT!" It's 9:32, and my first class is at 10:30, and all the way across campus. I throw my clothes off and throw on some joggers and a grey tee, I've been wearing them since high school, and though I've grown a lot, they were very over-sized when I bought them, so now they fit just right. I grab my project, hope it isn't raining, throw on my bag and run out the door.

Just my luck, it is raining. I cover as much of my project as I can with my body and continue my mad dash for the building. I get there a bit early, my usual 15 minutes early, good. I don't like being late, so I'm always at least 15 minutes early. I set my project up, like everyone else has done, I look around the room and notice mine is very different from theirs.... Oh well, it happens. I don't mind being different anymore. I've grown up a bit, and my scars? I wear them loudly. I don't care what people say about me, I don't care what people throw at me. I am myself, and that's what matters.

I'm pretty deep in this self pep-talk, which I'm doing out loud, and I'm suddenly snapped out of it. Venus walked in. I scowl at him, and he smiles, walking over and wrapping an arm around my shoulder, looking at my art.

"Not bad, for a demon's boyfriend." He said the word demon like it was something that needed to die.

"I've no idea what you're on about. It's my art. It has nothing to do with who I date except inspiration, Venus." I said it flatly, my voice monotone.

"Oh come on, Nate. You can do so much better than a demon. I can't imagine such a gorgeous man like yourself with someone like her, she isn't pure. She's broken." I hate the words he's saying, but somehow they keep swirling in my head, I look at him, avoiding his eyes.

"Venus, you need to leave. I will call the law enforcement." I say it, like I have and done so many times before.

He grumbles a bit, knowing I don't mean normal enforcement; and lets go of me, I walk a few steps away and he stares.

"You know I'm right about her." And he leaves.

Something about that conversation distracts me for the rest of the day....

         Allsion's POV

I find it strange how little Nate texts me today. To be honest it worries me a bit. So, I text him.

"Hey, you ok, babe?" I send it, and it takes a few minutes before I get response.

"Yeah, been thinking about finals a lot, sorry" He said, so I called him.

"Hey, what's up?" It's about 10 pm, so I know he;'s done with classes and probably just working on homework.

"Working on some new project plans, that's all." He sounded a bit distracted.

"Oh ok. What class is it for?"

"Oh, Child Fashion Creation and Design."

"Ah, I see. You seem to enjoy that class a lot, Nate." I smile a bit.

"Yeah, I guess I do. It isn't my favorite though."

After that, we got side tracked and ended up talking until I noticed he was getting a bit tired, so I said I loved him, and we both got silent, and eventually, I heard his shallow breaths of sleep against the phone. I smiled again, and started just listening to what he was doing. HE shuffled a lot that night, talking about things, I didn't sleep at all. I'm concerned about him, should I pay him a visit soon?

It's strange, out of all the nights I've spent with him, he's never shifted and talked this much in his sleep, well, maybe a few times, but only when he's really upset. I start to get worried when he screams and I hear the blankets thrown to the the floor and then a loud thud as his body falls as well.

"What the hell?!" I hear him yell. ".... I guess it was just a dream...."

"Nate?" I speak up finally.

"What? Oh, I fell asleep on the phone..... Sorry babe."

"It's ok, but are you? That sounded like a hefty fall." I asked.

"Yeah, just off the bed, nothing big. I had a bad dream."

"I noticed."

"Well, what time is it?" I can hear him start to shuffle about the room.

"It's about 3:40 AM" I tell him.

"Oh, okay..... I'm gonna go out for a bit, Zoe graduates today, are you coming?" He asks.

"I would, but I have a big final today, I'm sorry."

"It's ok, I'd rather you ace the final than not take it."

"Thanks, babe."

"I'm going to go out for a bit, text me if you need me, ok?" He says.

"Yeah, I love you."

"I love you too, Allison." HE makes a little kissy sound, says boop, and hangs up per usual.

I'm kind of worried about him.
