When I woke up jonah was gone- I didn't expect him to be here, but I was kinda hoping he was. I kept trying to get ready for first period but I just kept replaying last night in my head, those few words Jonah shared that changed everything. Or did they? "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for that kiss," what does that mean? Obviously he's wanted to kiss me for a long time but how long is a long time? Just cause a guy kisses you doesn't mean he likes you, so I need to chill out with all these feelings.

I was almost late to first period and I started taking notes as soon as I sat down. We were talking about grammatical errors and how to this day, my teacher still has students who don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." About half way into class I heard someone in the hallway scream,

"Y/N THIS ONES FOR YOU!"

And just like that the fire alarm started to soujd off and all the sprinklers started going off- soaking everyone. I walked out of the classroom to see jonah standing there, smiling his big goofy smile.

"Y/n, will you please accompany me to a dinner tonight that will be identified as a date."

My whole class at this point was watching as all the neighboring classes evacuated to the hall we were in. Everyone was watching, all eyes on me. I didn't know what to say, there was a knot in my throat. I looked up and jonah just smiled. He started to walk towards me and he put his arms around my waist and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back, whispering into his ear.

"Yes Jonah, of course I will go on a date with you," right as Jonah looked into my eyes, we were about to kiss again. In front of all these people.

"HEY! WHICH ONE OF YOU YOUNG MEN ARE THE ONE WHO PULLED THE FIRE ALARM!?"

Jonah started to giggle, he grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowd of kids in the hallway. We got through the hallway and ran to his car. We both got in his car, both scared as hell and just sat there for a good minute. I started to laugh and he did too and we sat there laughing together, like a bunch of idiots.

"Jonah, I can't believe you just did that," I exhaled mid-laugh.

"Me either, I just thought of a good idea and said fuck it."

"And what was that good idea?"

"That maybe if I made asking you on a date as romantic as I could, I'd get to kiss you again."

I blushed, "But how does pulling the fire alarm make it more romantic?"

"Well. While you were in first period, I was in my dorm scrolling through what was on tv and the notebook was on, right at the scene where it was raining and they kissed in the rain and they admitted their love for eachother right? So I thought- hey I really like this girl, I wanna impress her like Ryan did, right? So I started walking to your dorm only to realize you were in class and see, I had this whole clever way of asking you on a date planned in my head, all I needed was you. So I started walking to your class and I sat down against the brick wall outside for about 20 minutes before I texted you-"

"Did you text me? I turn my phone off before class and-"

"Not important, anyway, I sat waiting and waiting until I couldn't wait. I just couldn't. I was so anxious I was shaking I wanted to make it special and how special would me asking you outside of first period be? Not special at all. I saw the fire extinguisher and didn't even think."

"You're so adorable and corny I don't even know what to say." I could barely stop smiling, that was so overdone but at the same time the sweetest thing ever.

"Okay, so where are we going?" Jonah asked as we pulled up to a red light, "I know this really good burger place off campus a bit up the road if you're down to go now."
