"Got the Tripod Nari?"
"Check. I also have both heavy duty cameras. That includes the waterproof one. Zenji got the rest packed and has mapped out the route, even though he did in class. God dammit. . ."
I shut the trunk and we all get in my pickup truck. Though I'm not the one driving. Zenji is driving as he needs practice and knows the route. You might think i'd be more cautious with a 15 year old driving. But he has driven it multiple times before. Hell he drives better then me at this point. I sit in shotgun. Zenji turns my key chain and starts the sleek machine while Nari is double checking that we got everything. This is our first time doing something on this scale so we can't fuck it up. That would be terrible for our reputation since we have gained quite a following.
"You sure we got everything?" I ask Nari
"Yep no need to worry, now Zenji step on it!"
I put in my CD for Nirvana cause none of us can drive anywhere without music.
"English music sounds cool, but it goes too fast I can only pick up a few words in each sentence!" Nari exclaims. Both him and Zenji are full blooded Japanese. I was born in Ireland, but we moved to America when I was two. My mother is Scottish and my dad is Irish.
"Well you can't deny it's still good music. Plus I listen to Japanese rock all the time and I don't care if I can't understand it."
Zenji just eye rolls us both. When we would pen pal each other when I was 16, he would write to me about how me and Nari should be a couple and that I could get him to go to college in Japan. None of that ever happened though, He graduated high school and knew his gran would never be able to pay off his college debt. So now that we have a steady flow of money he wants Zenjiro to go to college and get a degree.
"Oh by the way Zenji, where are we going? Like what city is this that we need all this equipment?"
Nari can tell Zenji needs to focus on driving so he speaks up " We are driving all the way out to Yokohama, we would just take the train to get there but with all this equipment we would clog up a whole car!"
"In Japan all you people do is take the train, Americans drive almost everywhere, to work, for food, to friends, I mean it everywhere! To be over 18 and not have a car in America is bewildering!" I fire back
"Cultural differences ayy," We both say, finger guns at each others foreheads. But then I noticed. We both were dusted with pink in face. I immediately sat back down in the front seat. Then I pulled out my book and started reading. Lord Of The Flies.
Haruko's POV
I was sitting on top of a neon colored city building right in the middle of Yokohama. My tracker was beeping, but I was struggling to keep my eyes open. I check the scanner on my tracker, the green beep was on a moving object. A fast moving object, still kilometers away. It's a car I think. Well whatever it is, I need to find it because Atomisk may be closer then I ever imagined. Follow, that, car. . . . . .
Nariyuki's POV
(y/n) and Zenji helped me unload all the equipment and set it up with the team once we got there. They were quite surprised about how young we were to be on the job, I take that as a compliment since this is where my life has gone. I really hope I don't mess things up. Zenji always seems to do everything perfectly. I bet he even wrote to (y/n) in nice handwriting back in the day.
Very quickly the concert started and boy I was wowed, during intermission it was our job to commentate for it and talk to the crowd about the show and the artist playing (The Pillows). It was honestly way fun, and Seeing (y/n) all socially awkward with the crowds people was adorable. I was always popular in school, somehow. I don't get it. I was lost in thought but then the band would start playing again and we would frame the cameras all around to get concert footage. Wonder if we can use this for our next podcasts? That would be sick. The whole us setting all the equipment up took about 50 minutes before the concert hall started filling up. We had this amazing women named Fujiko who helped us with it all. I helped (y/n) with the ordeal as Japanese is not her native language.
