Why did this happen to me? (Rook x Ben)

Chapter 2

(A/N: I'm extremely sorry for not updating in forever!! A lot has happened to me and I needed a break. This isn't finished, but I wanted to get something out to you guys who actually like my book!! It's small, but I hope you like it <3)


Ben's P.O.V 

After paying for everything, Rook, and my new dog were off to see Grandpa Max. Once we got there and headed down to the kitchen, Lola (a/n: I found an okayish name for the dog. I might change it if I get suggestions.) Lola following behind us. I called out, looking into the kitchen a bit; "Grandpa Max?" Right on cue, Grandpa Max parkoured his way over the countertop. I and Rook looked over the counter to see Grandpa's lunch running around like a rabid animal. He saw that I and Rook were right behind him, looking towards me he made a signal for me to go right and motioned Rook to go left. I looked back at Lola and quietly told her to stay put. I did as Grandpa Max said for me to do, I made my way towards the right side of the kitchen. As soon as the creature saw an opening for an escape, it quickly rushed towards it. "It's making a break for it!" Grandpa Max yelled towards me, I nodded and jumped in front of it. "Uh, huh, huh!" As soon as I said that the thing moved it's weird talons and screeched, catching me off guard. Lola jumped in front of it, letting out a loud bark. The creature screeched in fear and ran away towards Rook, he saw it coming for him so he used his Prototool to catch it. He grabbed the net he captured it with and held it up proudly, soon handing it over to Grandpa Max. I smiled at Lola and started to rub her head gently. "Good girl!" Grandpa noticed the skinny dog. "Who's this skinny lil' dog?" Grandpa Max walked up to me and Lola, reaching his hand out to let her smell it. "This is Lola, me and Rook picked her up when we saw her in an alley."
