Severus stood out on the Astronomy Tower, looking out. His long, elegant cape slowly blew behind him. I stood there for a few moments, taking in the peace his body was holding. I snapped out of it, going beside him. He watched the students enter Hogwarts with hurt, saddening eyes. I put my hand over his, which was on his side... He did nothing. He didn't crack a smile, look at me, or even fold his hand in mine. He just continued watching the students file in... Something was wrong, but he would never tell me what. He hardly ever spoke to me these days. Only if necessary, he would speak. Something was different about him... He was hurting and I could tell. "Hi," I whispered, moving in front of him and cupping his cheek with a hand. He didn't look at me or reply... He just continued to look at the students. Now and then, he would blink. It wasn't many times he would blink, however. I looked in his eyes. They were darker than normal and looked as if he was longing for something... He looked as if he felt alone and had no one... I couldn't understand. "What's wrong, Severus?," I softly asked, trying to comfort him by hugging him. He didn't huh back or reply. I couldn't take this. I kissed his lips delicately. He did nothing. He didn't close his eyes, nor did he kiss back. I softly and slowly rubbed his shoulder, leaving to our private quarters.
Once I arrived there, I sat on the floor in a ball. I began slowly crying. What was wrong with him? Why did he seem so broken?
I heard a soft knock at the door. What the hell? I quickly wiped my eyes and opened the door. It was Severyn. She walked in, hugging me. I guess she noticed her father's strange actions as well. I heard her sniffle in my chest. "What's wrong, honey?," I asked, kissing her head softly to attempt to help her feel better . "I miss dad," she whispered. I understood. It did feel as if Severus had left us. "I know... I miss him too," I said, hope in my weak voice , "hopefully he'll come back to his normal self." I felt her nod her head in my chest and the door opened. I looked to see Severus standing at the door. Severyn let me go from her hug and left the room, leaving me and Severus alone.
