CHAPTER 1

Anais is very eager to get her things on the overhead bin. As the plane crew announced there touchdown, she automatically stood up and had not wasted a single second. After three years of working in Paris, who could blame her for being this excited?

“At home at last”, she breathed in a deep sigh and walk towards the exit door of the plane.

                She had worked in a laboratory in Paris that is known for formulating almost all of the known brands of perfumes and stuff all over the world. She graduated as a Chemist and was so in love with Paris before and so she finds the offer of being one of the top perfumerer in the most romantic place of all so enticing that she automatically grabs the opportunity. Later after staying there for three straight years, she suddenly missed the subtle lifestyle only Philippines can offer and so she decided to go back. To go home to what is really her home.

“I can’t wait to see your reactions guys,” she shrieked at the thought. While waiting for her baggage in the conveyer belt, she is already picturing in her mind the shocked looks on her friends’ face.

Ano pinagkakaabalahan niyo at this moment? She messaged Miranda and Marceline in their facebook accounts.

                Nasa bahay lang. Miranda messaged back.

                Hindi naman katagalan, nag-message din si Marceline. Im in the office. May tinatapos na paperworks. Urgh. Why Anais?

                Napaisip siya. Pano niya ba mapagsasama ang dalawa.

Nakakabinging tilian ang sumalubong kay Anais. Then all of them were teary eyed.

                “Gaga ka. Di ka man lang nagpasabing uuwi ka na,” nakalabing turan ni Marceline sabay hampas sa balikat niya.

                “Hindi ka pa rin nagbabago Marce, touchy ka pa rin” sabay gaya sa ginawa nitong paghampas.

                “As in talaga Anais, gulat na gulat ako” ani Miranda.

                “I just want to surprise you guys. Your faces kanina, it was priceless” tatawa-tawang sambit niya sa dalawang kaibigan na hanggang ngayon ay mukha pa ring nakakita ng multo.

                “Saan na yong mga bagahe mo?”

                “Hanep ka talaga Miranda. Pasalubong agad ang hinanap. Hindi mo man lang akong magawang yakapin ulit. Group hug nga ulit.”

                And so they hugged again like there’s no more tomorrow.

                “OK enough na ang kadramahan. We really need to see our pasalubongs na,” kunwaring maarteng turan ni Miranda.

MAGDAMAG silang nagdaldalan at walang ibang ginawa kundi ang mag-usap hanggang sa magpasma ang mga ngalangala nila.
