Chapter 2

The sun is shining as bright as the golden ball (I am not usually the one to appreciate nature, but I make exceptions on Fridays only). I wake up and get ready for school and after wearing my uniform, I go to the kitchen. My dad has made sandwiches for me (nothing new).

"Morning daddy" I say as I pick a cookie placed in a tiny plate and stuff it in my mouth.
"Morning angel😇.  How are you this morning?"
"I'm fine dad." I say while putting my lunch box in the bag.😫

I look at my watch and I see its already past eight. "Hollie Mollie !" I shout as I  run out of the house. "Bye dad, love you"

I run like a lunatic on the loose as I go to school. When I get in class, I am relieved to see that Mr Elmougy  hasn't arrived yet, but something far more scary and j preferably worthwhile my time happens, Johnson (THE basketball captain) asks me out but I do what any girl sweating like a pig in front of her crush would do...

"I get it, silence means no. See ya."
"No! The thing is you have a girlfriend." As I say the tail end of the sentence, I don't dare look into those gorgeous eyes because I know I would have gotten tongue tied.

"So? I'm pretty my girlfriend wouldn't mind me making new friends." (BURN!)😗
"Oh" I don't even know what possessed me to think that he was asking me like on date-date.
"Wait. You thought I was asking you out like on a date-date?" Took you long enough to figure out "genius". Instead of saying what I was really thinking, I just give off a little nervous laugh.

"Of course not, but I still need to think about it." I say.
"What is there to think about? I'm pretty sure the question was straight forward and I expect your answer to be explicit too." Johnson is right about one thing; my answer should be straightforward. But he is wrong about me not having to think about anything. I am thinking of saying that my schedule is full like how people in movies do it when they are asked on a date by someone they like but trying not to come across as desperate, and honestly, their lies are believable as they do have a life, but me? My great great grandmother has a busier schedule than mine.
"Yes, I would love to go out with you" I know I am entering a dangerous territory, but I choose to be naive as long as I get a shot at being friends with my "old time crush".
"Oh, cool.  See you later." He says as he walks off.
"Johnson!" Ughh, I soon realize that I am standing in my science class Kel glares daggers at me, if only starring would kill...

"What?" He asks with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"I wanted to ask where we are going to meet." I say when he walks a bit closer to me. (This time I do use my indoor voice😎).
"I will tell you about that later."

"Roxanne, Johnson, detention after school." Mr Elmougy says. I hadn't noticed that he had arrived and was waiting for us to finish our little "date" planning little session, well, you can't blame a girl for floating on a bloody cloud once in a while. I spend the whole lesson thinking about Johnson and I going out, having our first kiss, eloping, buying a house in Brazil, and having little mini Johnson👪 (a lot of them). Maybe I am a freak after all but like I said: "you can't blame a girl for floating on a bloody cloud once in a while."💞
