[Chapter 21]

After fixing the washing and putting it into the dryer. And fixing the dirty dishes after my little snack, I cleaned up the kitchen and the living room. Made sure everything was in place for daily uses.

I yawn making my way up the stairs. My bed was so screaming my name, I missed it. I wonder if it missed me?

I chuckle to myself realising I'm talking about a darn bed. I'm definitely tired.

Opening my bedroom door, my ready made bed was calling my name so loudly. It was as if I was in China.

I look at the bed with delight, walk over to the window and shut the curtains.

Much better, the darker the room, the better I'll sleep.

I close my eyes gently, allowing the long awaited sleep to take over.

BANG BANG

I snap up from my bed, throw the covers off of me and grab my fleece gown at the side, tying it round my waist.

Did I mention I was completely naked?

I open my bedroom door and run downstairs, realising there is actually someone at the front door. I shake my head whilst looking at the time.

3:56

Almost 4am, this better be good.

I unlock the front door with my keys and just as I'm about open the door, Laura pushes by me, practically throwing me into the wall and snapping the door off it's hinges.

If Jupiter won't do it, I guess Laura will.

"Ross, I am so sorry to come as such a late hour... But, it was a red alert" I look over Laura's appearance, she was soaked to the bone. And I mean soaked. I look outside and it was raining outside, but only a little. Must have been heavier before she got here.

That's when realisation snaps me back.

"Where's Jupiter?" Laura looks at me with sympathy.

"I couldn't stop them, I was being held back!" athr blood in my body was starting to boil, so quick I almost forgot to breathe.

"What do you mean?" She then shakes her head, and pushes me out the door.

"There's no time to explain, she's at the hospital, we need to hurry" Hospital? She must've gotten hurt.

"Give me 2 minutes, I'll get you outside" She nods, still crying her heart out. I run upstairs and grab my overnight bag, grabbed some clothes from the dryer. I know for a fact there was what we needed so I just grabbed it all from there and ran out, and of course. There was a taxi waiting with Laura in the back seat.

Slamming the door behind me not even caring about locking it, I quickly throw the overnight bag to Laura and strapped myself in and closed the door.

"Saltire Hospital and step on it" I look at her, waiting for her to answer me. But then I realised, I'm still not clothed appropriately. I open the bag on Laura's lap, she gathered what I was doing and held it steady.

"Care to explain what the hell happened" She took a deep breathe and slowly explained it.

"We were at this ice-cream place I told her about and she said she wanted to go. I told her I would if she would stay calm and not go into overdrive with me. She did just that, so I took her and just as we were leaving the shop, these hooligans came in, and started pointing their knives every direction. Unfortunately Jupiter stepped in the wrong direction at the wrong time and lower right abdomen caught the blade slightly and she fell to the floor. As soon as the little arse holes realised what happened, the scappered" Again, for a different reason this time I am speechless.

"The shop called an ambulance, but because I'm not her family, they wouldn't allow me on the van with them, so I grabbed a taxi and got you" I nod, understanding the whole ordeal.

"Thank you for coming to get me, I am so sorry this happened" She shook her head, tearing rolling down her tear stained cheeks.

"I loved having Jupiter over, it was brilliant. It was my fault she got hurt, she was on my watch" I didn't say anything, but pull Laura in for a hug the best I could, the seat belts resisted anything further.
