The skunky stench ruined the woodsy petrichor.
The girl ignored the stink because she was going somewhere.
She wore cotton candy perfume- who knows what for.
There was a hiss and then her screech.
She couldn't see through the darkness but heard her echo.
She ran, but the place was just out of reach.
The path was slippery and loose so she fell.
With a thud her knee hit the ground causing her tights to rip.
Now she's scared, damp, and bitter as well.
The buzz of a party and odor of tobacco got her going.
She brushed off her floral dress and wiped her glossy eyes.
Then she sauntered in, unaffected by the lights which were blinding.
Somewhere in the crowded room she heard a gasp.
A glamorous girl in a colorful dress appeared with a hug.
All she could smell was vanilla when she was in her grasp.
She asked how the trip was and other questions way too fast.
The sugary smells had the girls feeling faint.
They went to get a drink by the ice sculpture as tall as a mast.
Its jagged edges looked like they could snap at a sound.
There was a nest and an egg, both hollow and thin.
The girl with the ripped tights murmured to the other.
Her blonde hair was glowing in the extravagant lights.
She fiddles with a rabbit foot, a gift from her mother.
Her hands were oily from a chocolatey truffle.
The other girl made an elegant descent on crowded stairs.
The blonde followed in an awkward shuffle.
Her friend flipped her malleable curls.
They made their way to the back,
Where the party is the darkest and the facade unfurls.
The one with curls exchanged words and a bag with a tall man.
They snuck out with the bag and a giggle. After all, who'd suspect two little girls?
