I had never believed in the possibility of the supernatural existing. I grew up in a normal town with normal parents and my normal siblings. Being the oldest of three was never difficult, I loved my siblings and we got along really well when we were young. As we grew older my younger sister, Elena, grew more selfish and would pick fights with our parents as she felt they were keeping her from her boyfriend and best friends.
Her personality slowly changed as she became more popular at school. She and her friends were cheerleaders and the status went to their heads as they felt they were better than others. I had tried to talk to them, explain how hateful they seemed to others. But it was fruitless as I was simply Elena's nerdy older sister.
It was one of the nights where Elena had thrown a fit about going to a party with her school friends during our family game night. This wasn't anything new, Elena knew it was family game night. We've had the same routine every Friday night for the last 14 years. But even knowing this, she would still try and get out of the tradition every week. Mom and dad eventually let her go after an hour of arguing. That left myself, Jeremy and our parents to play a game and watch a movie together. Three hours later Elena called the house phone in tears asking mom to come and pick her up as her and Matt had broken up.
I went with my parents as I wanted to be there for Elena as I knew she was very upset. And even though we didn't always get along I still loved her with my whole heart. Once we had picked up Elena we were on our way back home and were driving over Wickery Bridge when we heard dad curse and felt the car jerk to the right. The last thing I remember is hearing Elena scream and the overwhelming feeling of the cold water rising.

I woke to the buzzing sound of voices and a mechanical beeping. I felt stiff and my mouth felt completely dry. "The poor Gilbert girl still hasn't woken up. It's surprising her family hasn't unplugged her yet." I slowly opened my eyes but I couldn't see anyone else in the room. "Time to go switch the IV bag out." As the door opened everything got much louder and it sounded as if people were screaming inside my head. It was overwhelming and I couldn't separate one voice from another. It was too much and I began to hyperventilate, I could feel my head start pounding and my vision began to go black.
