Chapter 1
Sometimes I wonder what my true purpose was for being born. Is it just to kill those that I am told to...Or is it something more? When I was a kid, I had hope that it was the latter, but as I grow older that thought slips further and further into my subconscious.
'Why would you be something more?' I would think to myself.
'This is all you've ever done...And it is all you will ever be....'
'A killer for hire'
The day I was born, I was placed in a 'Camp' that was made for bringing out children's 'True potential'.
When I was first beginning to speak, they taught me not to talk unless spoken to.
*Window opens*
When I was first being to walk, the masters would knock me down, to strengthen the want to rise.
"Hey! Who...Who are y...?!"
At the age of 10, I became completely foreign laugher.
"No! No! Ple...!"
At the age of 12, I lost what you would call a grin at most.
"I'll! I'll give you money! How much do you...!"
And the final thing I lost was my ability to produce tears, if I ever had the ability to do so in the first place. Every ounce of what you would know to be a human being, was killed with time and blood.
"Angel. Have you finish yet?" The voice in my ear piece began to talk.
"Yes"
"Good. Clean up, then come back to base"
"Got it"
I took my backpack off and grabbed the gasoline. I walked around the expensive apartment, and started to douse everything in sight, making sure not to step in any of the pools of blood.
I don't want to get my new shoes dirty.
I make sure I have all my things before lighting the match and tossing it toward the bodies.
I leave the apartment through the front door, knowing I had already disabled all the cameras. Before I walked out of the building, I made sure to pull the fire alarm.
"No need for extra bodies"
It's not like I'll get paid extra.
I head to the alley, making sure I wasn't seen before I continued to walk on another side walk. I could start to hear the sirens coming, but I continued to walk smooth and steady.
I arrived to the parking lot I had left my bike in, which was at least 10 miles away from the target's apartment. I know it's a little of a far walk, but caution is key in the game of an assassin.
I started my motorcycle and started to head back to base, which was about 2 hours from where I was.
When I finally arrived, I got off my bike and just stretched for a few minutes. I turned to look at the base before heading inside. From the outside, it looks like a regular gym, but as I made my way down to the basement and entered a code on the rusted door, the wolves appeared from behind the sheep. I entered the underground base, looking at all the newbies, veterans, and devils. I walked up to August, who was the new guy assigned to give me targets. I killed the last guy because he disrespected me, and when you have been raised the way I have, disrespected is paid for with death. I was merciful and gave him a quick one though.
"Welcome back"
I just gave him my usual nod, and he went into the back to grab my money for the job. As I was waiting, I felt a hand tapping my shoulder.
"Hey little lady, can you move?! I have something to talk about with August!"
His yelling was irritating my ears and being up for 12 hours didn't help the headache that was beginning to start. I started to glare at the annoyance that was his mouth.
"What honey?! You want to kiss me or something?"
At this moment, August came back from the back with my bag.
"Got it"
"FINALLY!!"
The big ape pushed me aside and slammed his hand on the desk in front of him.
"August I need you to...!!"
I didn't let him finish his sentence as a slammed one of my knives into his left hand, while kicking the back of his knee. He fell onto his knees, and before he could even scream from the pain in his hand, I grabbed the back of his head and slammed his face into the desk three times. He was out cold and just hanging there because the knife in his hand wouldn't let him fall completely to the floor. I pulled out my knife, making his unconscious body fall on the floor. I looked up to August, who was shocked and shaking a little.
'New guys'
I rolled my eyes and opened my palm toward his direction. He instantly put the handle of money into my hand and I began to walk toward the door. As I was walking, I could her everyone else start to whisper in shaky voices.
"Did...Did you see that?"
"Yeah. Who...Who is that?"
"That's Angel! that guy must have really pissed her off"
"Is he dead?"
"Wait! That's Angel?! I heard she's only 17 and has completed over a thousand mission!"
"I heard it's more like a million!"
"Well I heard..."
There conversations continued on like that. I didn't kill that guy, at most he had severe brain damage now. I don't kill obvious newbies who don't know who they're messing with, but if he ever makes the mistake of trying something like that again, he isn't going to have a third chance to learn his place.
I made it outside, the sun was starting to rise. I hoped on my bike and started on my way home, a good three hour drive.
When I made it into my apartment, I enabled all my locks and security, and did my routine check of the place, to make sure no one has entered. After I confirmed that everything was good, I went into my room and opened my closet. I pulled back all my clothes and looked at the hidden door, I entered in my code and opened it, placing the bag of cash inside and closing the door.
"When I wake up, I need to put at least five percent of the cash into my bank account"
Putting in too much money would look way too suspicious, so I'll have to put in little amounts at a time each week, which is always a pain.
I take off my clothes and throw them into the laundry basket. Walking into the bathroom, I take a nice relaxing shower before coming out and putting on pjs. I sigh, as I finally crash onto my bed and fall asleep instantly.
