Stolen Hearts

1: Scarlet Pan

My body crashes onto the ground with a hard thud, jumping down from trees is fun. I quickly get to my feet and I start running as fast as I can through the forest. I won't let him beat me. I hear the boys laughter from all around me, they're closing in. I have to win this, I can't allow them to win, so much is at stake. I suddenly hear the boys yell with a mix of screaming, "That bloody dog!" I hear Felix groan and I smirk to myself.

I see camp getting closer to me and I start running faster. I feel my feet lift off the ground as I jump on the rock at the centre of camp and I howl like a wolf. I hear the bushes rustle and half of the boys walk into camp with disappointed looks on their faces. I hear whoosh from behind me and turn around to see him, his forest green eyes look into mine. He grabs my wrist and holds my arm up in the air, "Scarlet's team is the winner!" He announces and half of the boys cheer.

I jump off the rock and I run over to my team, we all hug each other and the youngest one, Tim, jumps into my arms. I lift him up in the air and I spin him around a little bit before smiling at my team, "Told you boys you'd win with me."

More rustling is heard from the bushes and my beautiful red wolf walks into camp, "She used the wolf. That's cheating!" Felix groans and I walk over to him.

"Her name is Kida and the game only has one rule: No magic. Right, Peter?" I ask my brother and he walks over to us. He puts his arm around my shoulders and smirks at Felix.

"My little sister's right, Felix. For once, her team weren't a bunch of rule breakers." Peter squeezes my shoulder and I stick my tongue out at him. He does the same and I push him away while rolling my eyes.

I run back over to my team and we start chanting, "Winners! Winners!" Over and over again. My second in command for the team, Devin, walks over to me and we hug each other. My team hardly ever wins any of the games so we take full pride whenever we do win. 

My name is Scarlet Pan and as you might have already guessed, I'm Peter Pan's younger sister. Yes, Peter Pan has a sister, I'll let that knowledge consume you. I am 15 years old and the only Lost Girl. I don't know why but Peter only seems to have Lost Boys, but it's not so bad, we're all friends. Devin is my best friend. He was scared when he first came to Neverland but I was the one who showed him the ropes and thanks to me, he's one of the best hunters we have.

Only one Lost Boy is older than me and that is Felix, Peter's 'second in command'. He was the first Lost Boy Peter brought to Neverland so we trust him the most. It may seem like Felix and I don't like each other, but we're just playing around, he's just a sore loser. Oh, and Tim, he's eight years old, making him one of our youngest boys. I'm sort of like a mother figure to the younger ones and I'm a mentor to the older boys, they all look up to Peter and I. We go on a lot of adventures together but sometimes, Peter gets a little over protective.

He's two years older than me so he thinks he can take more control, obviously I fight back. One time, these pirates came to Neverland and Peter put a spell around the camp so that I couldn't leave. None of the boys have ever seen me that mad before. Peter told me the captain of the ship, Captain Hook they call him, would have taken me away and that he was only protecting me. I eventually forgave him but I'm still slightly holding a grudge.

Don't be misled, I don't just stay in the camp, that would be really boring. I explore the island a lot and it's not just us who are residents of Neverland. In the far South-East of the island, there is a tribe who were here when Peter and I arrived. I became friends with the Tribe leader's daughter, Tiger Lily, so we formed a peace treaty with the Tribe.

The Tribe didn't like Peter from the start but they liked me, I guess they saw I'm slightly different from him. Our peace treaty is, our boys and Peter shall not step on their part of the island and they will leave the rest for us, which is 90% of the island. Only I am allowed into their part of the island, Peter sometimes sends me to make trades with them, but I mostly go just to visit Tiger Lily and the rest.

Neverland isn't without it's dangers. We have poisonous plants and mermaids. You may call them Sirens but we just call them mermaids, deal with it. We keep the boys away from Mermaid Lagoon as they will kill the boys if given the chance. The mermaids like me and I also visit them from time to time, they say 'I'm too pretty to drown' so they don't harm me. I swim with them a lot of the time, they gave me a magical bracelet so when I go into the water while wearing it, I will grow mermaid features.

Peter and the boys call me the 'Peacekeeper' for Neverland and I can see where they are coming from. I just make sure that we don't have an all out war. Which is why I can't understand why Peter tries to keep me away from 'dangerous' things. What's more dangerous than swimming with killer mermaids? I guess he's just trying to be a good brother, we're the only real family we have for each other. No matter what argument we have, we always remember that. 

Oh, you're probably wondering about Kida, my wolf. Well, one day, in the early era of starting the Lost Boys, I was walking to the Tribe's camp. Peter sent me to try and create a trade deal with them, which I convinced them to agree with. I knew the boys had gone out with Peter but I wan't sure why. I few minutes later, I heard the boys holler and a wolf howl in pain. I immediately used my magic to take myself to where the howling came from. 

That's when I saw the boys cornering a poor, defenceless wolf with spears and arrows. I put myself between the wolf and the boys, she snuggled into the back of my legs. I managed to convince Peter to only hunt animals for food, not for fun and sport. The wolf didn't leave my side so I decided to keep her, I called her Kida and we've been together ever since. That's why my signature call is a wolf howl.

Devin and I sit next to each other around the campfire and Kida rests by my feet, "All right, team!," Peter calls out to his group, "We're on dinner duty for the next month." His group all whine and complain but they get to it.

"We did it, Devin! We won a game!" I celebrate and Devin smiles at my happy attitude.

"You're a craziest girl I know, Scarlet Pan." Devin shakes his head and I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Devin, I am the only girl you know. Apart from Tink." I shrug my shoulders.

I stare at the camp fire circle and I blink, it sets alight and my team gather around to get warm. Tim sits on my lap, he starts playing with my long, curly, light brown hair and I smile at him.

Peter may be my blood family, but these boys are also my family. Peter and the Lost Boys are my real family, they are all I need.
