Beginning Part two.
I had changed back into my cloths from earlier today, whatever day it was. I had found them in the locker room. On my way out the door, one of the guys on the team, who apparently is my good friend, told me to get in his car because were going to his house. According to him, I had made plans to spend the night tonight, and we were going to go to school together tomorrow.
Great, now I’m the car with two people I don’t even know, going to their house.
“Hey Mickey,” The kids dad says.
“Yeah,” he says.
Mickey, I think, I have to remember that.
“You like the song they played after the game?” His dad asks.
“No!” Mickey says, “Cyndi Lauper sucks in the first place, but now she sings about me!”
His dad laughs.
I think about the fact that Cyndi Lauper was popular in the eighties. After looking in the rear-view mirror, I saw that Mickey was wearing a polo shirt with the color up, and bell-bottom jeans. He looks like my dads yearbook.
“How was your day?” Mickey’s dad asks me.
“Good,” I say. Why is he wearing those clothes?
“Do you have any homework to finish when we get home?”
“Nope.”Is that Pat Benetar playing on the stereo?
“I thought we would watch The Goonies when we get home.”
“Really” Mickey asks.
“Yeah I bought it.” His dad says. When was The Goonies filmed? Then I have an Idea.
“Cool. Um… I think I got the date wrong on one of my assignments.” I say, “and its been bugging me all day.”
“Its Thursday March 3, 1986.”
