Chapter Twleve

Nova's only hope was for her uncle to show up at the stadium, and then to teleport her and him somewhere else, but she had momentarily forgot about the other anarchist. She only remembered when they actually showed up, but all the others hadn't and they were ready.

Oscar went against Queen Bee, a fight where he would clearly win, his smake putting her bees to sleep, and capturing her.

Ruby against Leroy, taking him out from a distance to avoid being hurt by his poisons.

Danna and Hugh took them back to headquarters, to keep them. But Nova, Adrian the the rest of the originals stayed, ready to fight. Adrian wanted to stay to take down Phobia.

"Where is Phobia?' Adrian said, to no one in particular.

"He is not coming, he told me himself," Nova replied.

Adrian was shocked, but was even more shocked when their wristbands fell off, and the originals were all thrown back. Adrien quickly transformed into the Sentinel. Then all of a sudden, Nova and Adrian were in front of the Cathedral.

Niva knew what was going on, but Adrian was confused, but when he saw Alec Artino standing, just a few yards away, wearing his helmet, he knew what was going on as well.

"My little Nightmare, you played your part well, but like I had expected from the start, you failed. Now I am just waiting for Phobia."

Nova was confused, wondering if he didn't know Phobia was not coming. Adrian and Nova shared a look, both equally confused.

"Why do you need Phobia to kill us."

"Well, Mr. Everheart, I could take you out here and now. But I don't want to kill Nova, I could never kill my own flesh and blood."

Ace stood there, like he won, he didn't even falter when Nova let a tear shed, but that was because he wasn't looking at her. He only looked at her when he heard her say something, though it was unclear what it was.

"What was that my little NIghtmare, you are going to have to speak louder if you want me to spare you."

"Lies! Uncle, I said LIES!! You say you could never kill one of your own, but you killed my family."

Both Ace and Adrian had a look on their faces. Adrian had a look of realization on his face, finally understanding what his father had said to Nova the day before. And Ace had a look of shock, like he didn't expect her to know.

"You ordered the hit on them, you ordered Phobia to kill Adrian's Mom, you ruin families."

If possible, Ace was even more shocked, but this time he quickly masked it, and flew his hand out, pushing Adrian against the Cathedral, and slowly rising him up, and choking him while doing so.

"Perhaps he should die like his mother then, huh, Nova. I didn't expect you live to live the attack, your power being something simple, like Blacklight's power, but you survived, and here we are, but you are right, I did kill them, in a sense, but now, I am too attached to you, and I am not going to kill you myself."

Nova looked between her uncle, and Adrian, trying to form a plan. Adrian was running out of breath, and she was running out of time. Her uncle looked over at Adrian and brought him higher, suddenly, Adrian's head fell lopsided and his arms fell, giving up, and her uncle let him fall to the ground.

Nova, fell down onto her knees as she saw the rest of her team, and the original renegades come into view, she had to do something now before they got hurt.

"Phobia isn't coming uncle, he is the won who warned me about this war you wanted, he left, he told me to win, and I failed."

Ace look taken back by her sudden change, looking defeated he thought.

"Very well, maybe I wasn't as attached as I thought."
