Step 2: Create a character(s)
In any story, the most important thing is a main character, or characters. I suggest trying to make a character that you're most comfortable working with. If you don't know how well the characters personality will work try roleplaying it and tweak it as you want. Another thing is you should right down the important things like;
Whats their full name? Whats their age? Gender? What do they look like? What is their personality? What are some of their flaws? Phobias? Traumas? What do they like and dislike? What was their childhood like?
Basically, I would make and rp form for them, so you don't mess up any critical information.
Now this obviously doesn't apply if you are writing a fanfiction without original characters. If thats the case, just try to get into the mindset of the characters when you write, makes it more realistic.
