Ciel's POV

We had agreed to work on the project today, Wednesday, and Friday at seven, but never talked about a place. Sighing when I realized it, I continued to walk through the halls. It was a free period. The free period was given because the school has a strict on-campus lunch policy, but I was told that until two weeks ago that wasn't the case.

Everyone was out on the town buying trinkets and getting snacks. But I wasn't doing anything, just walking around on campus and thinking aloud. My phone rang and I struggled to find it. Finally, I found it and answered without looking at the number.

"Mm...Talk to me~." I answered in a sing-song tone.

"That's cute Phantomhive, but somehow it doesn't suit you." My eye rolled at the sound of that damned Michaelis' voice.

"How did you even get my cell number?" I asked.

"Ash told me you gave it to him and I felt a bit hurt that he had it and I didn't." I stopped in my tracks thinking back on the entirety of my day.

"I never once exchanged numbers with that weasel." He sighed on the other line.

"He probably looked it up. Anyway, I was just thinking about the project and noticed that we never agreed on where to meet." I nodded although I knew he couldn't see me.

"How about my place? Not the one I evicted you from." He laughed.

"Sure text me the address. See you in eighth." I hung up after that.

I don't I want to see him in choir. He swears that the teacher will have me sing in front of everyone. A few seconds later I found myself at the entrance to the school and without a second thought I exited. I just started walking in any direction my feet would and encountered a humble cafe. Upon entering, I saw a women.

She stood there in her blood red apron, with her red dress, as her red hair was draped atop it all. Her pale skin making the color pop beyond imaginable means. I walked towards her and right as I was to tap her shoulder she turned to face me.

"Oh!" She yelped jumping back a bit. "You gave me quite the fright dear." Her voice was like honey as it spoke driving me to tears. She set her hand atop my head and lightly pet my locks.

I looked up with hope. Her lips a bright red, but her eyes and deep black. "Where are your parents honey?" This wasn't Madam Red, but she was just what I needed to get through the day.

Even the thought that someone out there had such a kind women in their midst, someone who unknowingly honored my aunt, was enough to make me want to stay.

I took in a deep breath and looked down. For her, I will try to smile. "I'm here on my own. The high school a few blocks from here let us out for a free period." I answered leaning into her touch. She smiled.

"Really? No-one ever comes from the high school. They think they're too good for us. But this is a nice change." I nodded and she stood looking over to a booth. "Would you like a seat?" I nodded once more following her to the cushioned bench. "What will you be having today?"

People stared at her, staring at me, as I stared at her not speaking in the slightest. Whispers started as they looked. I shook out of my trance when she repeated the question.

"I'll have earl gray and a slice of chocolate cake." She nodded after writing it down.

"I'll have it right away." I thanked her and watched her walk away from me into the kitchen. My smile faded as her red hair disappeared. I took to my phone and texted Michaelis the address of my home in London. The women came back a few minutes later with a plate of chocolate cake and a tea cup.
