Killua's POV :
Lying down on the bed while staring blankly at ceiling, my thoughts and worries are all racing endlessly in my head.
Everybody's asleep I presume. But my mind was much awake.
Alluka was still asleep beside me, makes me want to wake him up and tell him 'hey! I'm dead worried about you. Please be okay.'
I finally made up my mind to tell Leorio about Alluka's ability to grant wishes. If it be the cause of this, then I've wasted a lot of time by keeping it a secret.
My phone vibrated. An unregistered contact was calling. I picked it up.
"Hello"
"Go downstairs in five minutes." A female voice demanded.
Downstairs? Could she be --
"This is Lira. I need to tell you something. I'll see you in five minute." then she hang up.
I checked the time and it was 2:30 AM in the morning, what could she be telling me at this time around. And how did she even get my number. Suddenly, I felt anxious.
Remembering our first meeting, she knew I was looking for Leorio though we haven't met. She predicted the exact time Leorio's coming in the boardroom. And earlier at the dining area, I thought something about her and she suddenly looked at me as if she'd heard it or something. I'm still convincing myself that it's all a coincident but something tells me it's not.
I carefully went out the room so as not to wake up Gon who's sleeping beside Alluka.
Hurriedly, I went down the stairs and noticed that the light is turned on inside the kitchen. I went inside and found Lira sitting on the kitchen table looking at me.
Once again, I felt my heart racing.
She's wearing a comfortable looking white shirt, and shorts that exposed her bare legs. Her waivy hair neatly tied up, while her side bangs hang freely on her forehead covering some part of her left eye. She is hot.
I suddenly realized what I was thinking and shook my head.
"Are you done imagining?" she asked me on a very serious tone.
I felt flushed with fever and embarassment. It's as if she knew what I was thinking...just like the earlier incidents.
She suddenly placed some documents on the table.
"Read it.." she demanded.
I felt hesitant but then I just grabbed the documents and scanned it. Most of it were news articles, footnotes and stuff.
My body froze when I read one of the titles.
"Tribal girl from Syria known for granting wishes dies at age 10"
I looked at her.
She gestured me to read more.
I continued looking through the pages.
Another article states.
"Mohican child stops granting wishes after great illness."
The articles were dated decades ago.
I looked at Lira and asked her how she knew about Alluka.
"It's not really necessary." She said blankly.
Have she mentioned about this to anyone? I need to make sure Alluka's ability remains a secret.
"You don't need to worry. I won't pray tell. It's a secret."
Again she answered my question without me asking her! ....it's as if she knows what I'm exactly thinking. Could it be...
"You read minds!" I exclaimed.
She just looked at me.
"If only your brother was born with the strength that you have, he will be able to pull through, but it's not the case. He is a normal kid with a normal human strength and his ability is too much for him, it's actually eating him up. You shouldn't have wasted time for a second consultation, you felt it was actually the cause but you were denying it. You need to move quickly. He wouldn't make it for long. He's barely got a month you know. He's dying."
I don't know who she really is, but I know she's telling the truth. I stood still, blaming myself for being such an idiot for wasting time. My chest hurts a lot and I just want it to burst.
Suddenly I felt my tears on my cheeks. I was crying. I bowed down my head and wiped them away with my arms.
Then I felt somebody held my shoulder. It was Lira, she was already standing right next to me.
She looked at me and said, "Let's do something about it."
