SandDial laid on the carpet of his bedroom, his mouth emitting such a loud snoring sound, it could be heard from outside his bedroom door. His ears twitched as he slept, and his tail ruffled everytime he snore. When his hoof twitched and accidently had hit the wooden floor, he opened one eye tiredly, being a bit frightened by the floor's creaking. He re-closed his eye and lazily got onto his hooves. "Guhhhh...." he groaned as he stretched and slammed his bedroom door open.

With a yawn, he walked over to the kitchen table, sat on the barrel, and used his magic to make a breakfast peacan sandwich. He sighed in a lazy manner then leaped off the barrel and walked into the living room, opening the window. He looked below the window and picked up a waterring can, carefully sprinkling the water onto the small patch of daisies that sat below where he stood. After the flowers were taken care of, SandDial sat on a couch and began eating his sandwich. He was very satisfied with how the edible creation turned out; whole wheat bread, grass, carrots, and a tiny slice of steak all put together to form a delicious sandwich. A smile wiped across the Alicorn's face as he savored every taste of the morning breakfast, but that savor wasn't going to last for long as it only took three huge bites to finish off the sandwich. SandDial yawned once more and walked outside of his small cottage. The sight of ponies wandering around Ponyville brought a smile to his face. It was glorious to see other ponies trotting about, feeling happy about what they were given. Everything was fine until BOOM!

A large explosion could be heard. Ponies scattered, searching for places and running into homes to run from the falling debres of rocks and dirt and trees. SandDial looked out the top of a box and saw a grayish blue gas rapidly fly from below and into the sky.

"What in the world..." SandDial mumbled to himself as he leaped out the cardboard cube and flew away.

The male Alicorn rammed through the enterance doors of the royal castle. "P-princess!?" SandDial called, "Princess Celestia, is everything alright!?"

For as long as he asked he had not recieved a response, and that only made him worry more. "Princess!?" SandDial called, raising his voice as he dashed up the stairs, almost tripping in the process. He continued to shout out the female Alicorn's name as he ran through the halls of the castle. When he passed Celestia's bedroom, he froze and slowly walked back to the room's doorway. "Princess?" He called again. The pony slowly walked into the room and saw many items thrown in places where they shouldn't be. What caught his attention was a large lump under a blanket, sitting on the sun princess' bed.

"Princess...?"

He walked up closer and closer and closer to the bed until it was in his complete view. His breath got a bit heavy as he lifted up a hoof and lightly placed it onto the blanket. Please be safe, SandDial's mind screamed as he hesitantly pulled the blanket off of the bed.

He gasped as he saw Princess Celestia laying on the bed. It looked like she was somewhat...resting. Well...it was very difficult to tell when you don't have a special talent that allows you to tell if somepony is sleeping or is passed out or...worse. "P-princess. Princess Clestia, wake up!" he said.

A small groan could be heard.

"Princess?"

Celestia's eyes opened slwoly. She looked up at SandDial and a barely viewable smile came across her face. "Ah, i-it's nice to see y-you here." she mumbled, "I-in fact. Your shift doesn't start until nine-o-clock. W-why are you here so early?"

"I-I came to check on you." he admitted, "Are you alright?"

Celestia sat up and sighed, "Yes, I'm fine. There's...there's no need to worry about me."

SandDial shook his head, "No need to worry about you? All of Ponyville saw an explosion coming from your castle! You could've been hurt!"

"An...explosion? Is that so?"

"Y-yes princess! An explosion! It is so, it is very so."

The pinkish-white pelted mare leaped off the cushion and walked over to the doors that led to the balcony, her eyes peeking out the windows that sat upon the doors. "Well then, I can guarentee that I'm a one hundred percent fine." Celestia closed her eyes and took a small deep breath, the smile that she had previously growing in pleasure of the fresh air. "Well, thank you for checking on me~ Now...I need you to take over the seven-o-clock shift. I know your shift doesn't start at this time, however I feel that you're...needed here at an earlier time."

"Oh, um...s-sure. I'll take over the shift." SandDial nodded his head in agreement and wlaked towards the bedroom exit, "Oh, and be careful. Okay?" He then walked back downstairs.

"Don't worry...hehe..." Celestia giggled with a whisper, "I'll be fine as long as you're protecting me."
