Evelyn's POV:

"Ready for the first day of junior year little sis?", I chirped, already wide awake and dressed in a pair of ripped, bleached jeans and a grey tank top covered by a navy blue cardigan.

"As ready as I'll ever be.", Erica mumled, padding across the floor to manuvuere past me.

Taking in her usual attire of baggy grey sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt, "Are you sure you didn't want a makeover to start off the new year?" She only gave me a flat look, patting down her frizzy blonde hair, which only made it worse by the way.

"Come on, we're going to be late.", she groaned unenthusiastically, yanking me out the door by my forearm. Starting up the car, music began flowing out of the radio.

"If I could fall into the sky, do you think time would pass me by-"

"OH MY GOD, THIS IS MY SONG, ERICA! TURN IT UP!", I screeched, jamming out in the driver's seat. "AND YOU KNOW I'D WALK A THOUSAND MILES IF I COULD JUST SEE YOU, TONIGHT!", I sang, completely off key as loud as my lungs could let me.

"It's going to be a long school year.", Erica mumled under her breath beside me, and neither of us knew how spot on that was. I exhaled, exiting the car before strutting into the school, managing to turn heads as usual. I was basically Lydia Martin 2.0, except we had an unspoken rivalry. That's the way it always has been since pre-k, I have nothing against the strawberry blonde, so I'm still clueless as to why she hates me so much.

"Wow, Evelyn! Where'd you get that shirt? Sluts R' Us?", I heard a familiar voice snicker from behind me.

"Yes I did, Lydia! Thanks for noticing, they're also known as 'your closet'", I cried out with enthusiasm so fake, you could mistake them for Lydia's army.

"At least people actually like me, unlike your geek sister.", she scoffed.

My jaw ticked, your never make fun of Erica, "Says the girl who lost all her friends and her boyfriend because she's a complete wacko who ran around the woods naked for three days."

You could see the hurt in her eyes as I said that, but it serves her right for talking smack about my baby sister. "This isn't over Reyes.", she sneered.

"Ah, it never is.", I sighed dreamily, watching as she turned sharply on her heel, strutting away, leaving her little brunette minion to scramble after her like a lost puppy. Poor girl, she actually seemed nice, so why was she hanging around with the devil in Prada?

"Same time tomorrow, Lyds?!", I called after her, snorting as she shuffled away even faster. "Hey jackass, why don't you leave the poor kid alone!", I shrieked, crossing my arms at the jock who was picking on some innocent boy.

"What was that, Evelyn? Did you want to protect this loser?", he burst out into a fit of forced chuckles, even going as far as doubling over, making me roll my eyes in annoyance.

"Yes I did actually, so if you could back off, that would be great.", I smiled a sickeningly sweet grin.

He smirked, "Oh I'm sorry, would you rather it be your baby sister instead?"

My entire body stiffened, "If you even touch one hair on her blonde little head, I will personally cut off your man parts, and give them to her as a Christmas gift.", I growled out, grabbing the boy's wrist, pulling him around a corner to get away from Jackson. "Are you okay?", I asked him softly. The boy's wavy blonde hair fell over his forehead, his wide, blue eyes staring back into my own.

He gave me a slight nod, "Thank you."

"It's no problem.", I waved him off. "So what's your name?"

"Isaac Lahey, we're in the same class.", he mumbled.

My eyes widened, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I'm not really an observant person.", I trailed off, rubbing the back of my neck.

"It's fine. Uh, I guess I'll just go to class-"

I cut him off, "Pfft no, we're already late, want to skip?"

His adorable baby blues widened, "But-but-but I never skipped before!"

"Well, then it's about time you did!!", I shrugged.

"I really don't think this is a good idea....", he said warily.

"You'll be fine.", I reassured the wavy haired boy.

He looked at me skeptically, evaluating his options, before giving me a shy, but still bright, smile, "Let's do this."

"Oh hell yes!", I high fived Isaac, dragging him out the front door to Beacon Hills High. This is going to be fun, I thought to myself, glancing over at the adorable face next to me, who was already gazing at my own, making him look away, blushing, because I caught him staring. I let out a small chuckle, this boy, Isaac, will be my new project.
