•Luke's POV•

I walked into my next class still stunned at the event that just happened...

I was beat by a girl.

And not just any girl... a nerd girl.

That doesn't just happen!

I look through the semi-filled class as I walked to the back corner but stopped when I saw nerd girl sitting in the middle row, next to the window, writing down something in her note book. I decided to make a detour and sit next to her.

I parked my butt on the chair next to hers and she said nothing. I leaned over her shoulder to see her doodling faces in the corner of her page. A pineapple.

"Are you looking for something?" She asked, still concentrated on her drawing.

"Did you cheat?" I ask.

"Why would I cheat? It's just a stupid game." She asked.

"It doesn't just happen that nerd girls just beat jocks at sports." I said matter-of-factly.

"You think I cheated?"

"Well yeah." I said with a drop of doubt in my voice.

"Fine... but I'm sorry for hurting your ego, didn't know it was so important." She shrugged not looking up.

Ouch. "You never hurt my ego." I rolled my eyes.

"So explain to me why you are here."

I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by a guy with jet black hair and brown eyes, he leaned on nerd's desk with a flirty look on his face. "Hey, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out sometime, maybe get to know each other. What do you say?" He asked in a husky voice.

Amateur.

We both waited for her to say something as she continued doodling, not looking up. It was like he wasn't even there. Then suddenly she stopped and looked up at the guy, then turned to me.

"Hello? Answer him!" She rolled her brown eyes at me.

Has she never been asked out?!

"He asking you, not me smart ass." I rolled my eyes.

"Ohhhhhhhh..." she dragged out turning back to the guy. "No." She said bluntly and went back to her picture.

Even I felt the heart ache of her rejection. I kind of feel sorry for the guy.

He narrowed his eyes at her head and pushed her stuff of the table. She stay still for a moment and then looked up at him, irritated. "Nerd." He taunted and walked away from her.

I take back everything I said about feelings sorry for him, he deserved it. He's a dick.

She stood up and crouched down, picking up her things from the floor. I fell a little pain in my chest for her, so I stood up and helped her pick up her things.

"You don't have to feel sorry for me." She shook her head.

"I know."

Just as we finished picking up her belongings, another person came and pushed them off the table again and onto the floor, then they picked up her bag and threw it to the back of the room. We look up to see who that piece of shit was.

Emma.

"Your in my seat, move." She said, not sparing her a glance and put her bag where the nerd's was.

"Don't you usually sit at the back with you face attached to someone else's?" Nerd said nodding her head to where Emma usually sat.

"I didn't say you can speak to me." She snapped and walked past us, stepped on nerd's notebook, leaving a heelprint in the paper.
