"Gonnie... are you okay? You seem distant. You haven't even touched your food." May rested her hand on Byounggon's, trying to get his attention.

Byounggon flinched at her touch as he was snapped out of his thoughts. A look of hurt came over May's face and she removed her hand completely.

Fuck.

"May... I didn't mean to do that...I just was daydreaming and...you just startled me. That's all." Byounggon said softly, as he took May's hand in his own. He looked at her apologetically as he softly kissed her hand, saying "I'm sorry baby." May pulled her hand away, and looked away.

The two were at a local restaurant having their usual Tuesday brunch date. Today May ordered a blueberry bagel filled with cream cheese and a iced carmel macchiato with two pumps of white mocha meanwhile Byounggon had ordered a breakfast platter with 2 buttermilk pancakes, 3 sausages and a side of hashbrowns as well as a glass of orange juice.

Byounggon bit the inside of his cheek, worried that he had upset his girlfriend. May took a sip from her drink and began scrolling through her phone which made Byounggon feel awkward and even more guilty.

He began to eat at his food and the silence between the two of them seemed to suffocate Gon. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut short by the sound of May's ringtone as she recieved and incoming call.

"is that a client?" Byounggon asked as he poured more syrup on his pancakes

"yeah ... just give me a bit, I'll be right back," said May as she walked away with her phone.

"sure.." Byounggon frowned and watched as his girlfriend spoke on the phone. Her face seemed to brighten as she talked to the other person on the line. He noticed her twirl her hair and sway her body from side to side as continued to speak.

Why is it that whenever we go out she always gets phone calls or texts? Why can't she turn her phone off? And why does she always act so weird on the phone?? Is she cheating on me?!

Then realization hit as he shook his head.

I'm such a hypocrite. Here I am worrying about her infidelity yet i cheated on her. With a guy. And not just any guy, my ex best friend.

Shit.

What am I supposed to say? Do I even tell her? I should right? That way things don't blow out of proportion. But what if she breaks up with me?! Then I cant. Besides, it's not like Seunghuns gonna tell anyone, right?  Byounggon felt himself start to sweat and turned around to see if May was done with her call. And sure enough, May was walking back to their table.

"Hey Gon, I'm sorry but I have to go. One of my clients called and wants to meet with me right away. We can reschedule our date for another time right?" She said as she began to pack up her stuff and signal the waitress for the check.

Byounggon felt slightly irritated but spoke anyways, "O-oh yeah.. sure, sure! No problem, I get it. As a designer I get that you can get busy. It's fine, don't worry about it. You go to your meeting and I'll-"

"Great! Bye babe!" She said cutting him off as she ran out of the restaurant.

"- stay here... by myself... like always."
