Once she got off, she rushed home to her apartment that she shared with her roommate Anya. Everyone thought that was a funny combination: Amaya and Anya. Amaya took a shower, making sure she was clean every inch of her body. She kept her hair down and dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans and a flowy black tank top with a British flag on the front, as well as matching bra and undies. Brushing her teeth and putting on fresh deodorant she shoved sexy pajamas into her bag just in case. The entire time her heart was pounding. Taking one last look in the mirror she rushed out, slipping on her leather jacket. Grateful she lived a block from the shop. She didn't have a car.
Amaya walked down the sidewalk on her way back to work. She got a strange feeling that someone was following her. Even with the crowds, she was walking through, something felt off. Shaking her head, she chalked it up to her nerves. As she rounded the corner, she noticed Zane's car already there. A sleek black Camero, total man car. 'Punctual as always.' Amaya smiled, making her way across the parking lot, spotting him inside talking with Serenity. Her heart pounded as she opened the door, "Zane?" She called out to him.
Zane laughed with Serenity as he turned. His eyes ate her up as he scanned her up and down. "Damn." He bit his lower lip, making butterflies erupt in her stomach. Zane also changed out of his uniform. All black. Typical of him.
"Go on you crazy kids, have funnnn!!!" Serenity chirped from behind the counter.
Zane led her out to his car. "You look sexy." he whispered behind her, allowing his fingertips to brush her hair away from her neck, exposing it. His fingers left, opening the car door to allow her in. "Let's get going." Zane got inside and dove off. "How was work?"
Looking over at him she smiled, "It was great, same shit different day." She shifted in her seat, "I was really surprised you asked me out." her mixed eyes trailed up his arms to his handsome face.
"Yea the guys kinda pushed me to." he paused, that sounded bad. "I had been talking about it but never did." Smooth comeback. "They finally gave me the push I needed."
"Same...I've been thinking about you..." she blushed, surprised that Zane of all people needed a push to ask her out. She figured he had no issue in the woman department.
"Oh really?" Zane smirked, he wanted to say to Hell with dinner and take her home. But he wouldn't do that. He would savor tonight. Anticipation heightens the mood. And she deserved a special night. She was a sweet girl and he wouldn't just fuck her and leave.
"OH! Um, I...that..." She began stammering. He made her hot and bothered. "I just meant that..." she gasped as his hand trailed up her thigh.
"Oh, I know exactly what you meant." Zane ran his fingers up and down her leg. "How do you feel about Buffalo Wild Wings? Sen said that was your favorite place to eat." Fingers continuing tracing figure eights.
"S-Sounds great." she breathed; the light touch sent shock waves throughout her body. He was sending signals loud and clear on what his intentions were. She could feel heat pooling at her core.
"Good, because I.Am.Starving." he winked at her. It was good that they had hung out as a group, so it was less awkward when it came to actually talking. No awkward small talk. Zane never went on dates, just one-night stands or fooled around until either got bored. He wasn't the dating sort, but Amaya wasn't his normal type either. It was perplexing as to why he was so attracted to her. Zane glanced over at her to see her bopping to White Zombie- Thunder Kiss '69. She had changed the station when he was daydreaming. They had road together a few times when Chase was in the hospital, so it just seemed natural. His mouth twitched as he listened to her singing along, looking out the window. She was cute. She had really shocked him when she put herself together. The girls always dressed simple for work. His thoughts went back to her ass as they walked outside. She had talked about going to the gym lately to lose weight, and he could see her shaping up, but she still kept her figure. Her ass was just begging to be slapped. Zane shook his head before he got a hard-on. Not time for that yet, boy. "Feels different not being with the group." He said as the song changed.
Amaya nodded, "Yea things are really changing. Chase and Sen getting married." She sighed happily at the thought, "I just wish Lily would start dating Elliot...Blake is such a dildo. Too fake to even be called a dick." Amaya grumbled, "She's blinded and won't listen to anyone..."
Zane frowned, gripping the steering wheel. He knew it too. Blake was a sociopath and like to control Lily. How she didn't see it he would never understand. "She'd be better off with Elliot...He's a great guy." Zane bit out, "I'd trust him with my life."
"Yea..." She sighed. She worried about her friend. But Amaya had a feeling it would change soon. "Sooo..." Amaya trailed off, adjusting herself to look at him better. She wanted to break the silence. "Why'd you ask me? A guy like you could have anyone he wanted." Amaya chewed her lip before continuing, "Elliot always joked about the girls you go for...I just don't seem like your type."
Zane but the inside of his cheek, unsure of how to answer her. She was right, she was the opposite of the women he would normally see. He didn't really know the exact reason why, but he wanted her bad. Could he just say that to her? That he just wanted to fuck her to get the urges out of his system. "Well...most of the women I have been with were boring, emotionless, no strings attached. Dumb women who don't use their heads. No ambition just a pretty face. "His gaze fixated on the cars ahead as he drove, "Plus, I can be...quite dominating in bed. I like to be in charge. Never boring." Something dark and erotic crossed his eyes, "That's why I became a cop here in Chicago."
Amaya blushed at the sudden look in his eyes, she felt the burn coming back. "But how am I different?" she questioned again. "Clearly lacking in the looks department. And my ambitions are not to the moon. I work in a coffee shop..." Not that she was ashamed, nor would she have chosen otherwise.
Zane half glared at her, drumming on the steering wheel, "Ama...you went to school for your passion in art. You bust your ass every day at that shop. All three of you. You have ambition and strength. All of you battle the odds in a massive city against chains like Starbucks."
Blushing more, she looked away, no one had believed in her like that before, besides Lily and Serenity. They were her family. Her mom didn't approve of her choices for art school and working in a coffee shop. She had expected her to go to law school and 'make something of herself'. Amaya just couldn't do that. She loved to travel and paint and create. Desk life was not for her. "Thanks..." She smiled softly.
