Zane slammed his fists on his desk, causing it to splinter, "WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE!?" he roared as Elliot and Chase stood by. Amaya had been missing for 4 days. An elderly neighbor saw someone drag her off and tried to alert anyone, but it was too late. Whoever had got a hold of her was hooded and in a mask. Dressed in all black. It had all happened just moments before Zane got up to get her. He was pissed he had just missed her. The woman rushed to him when she saw Zane going to the door, she was already on the phone with the police. Zane went into a rage trying to find her. She was gone. Dread flooded his veins. If only he had skipped his lunch break, he would have gotten to her sooner. A million questions rose. Who'd take her? Or hurt her? An ex? But she didn't have one; not a recent one.
The PD contacted her mother and step father, who flew in immediately. Everyone was freaking out that she was missing. Nothing added up until someone sent a link to a video stream on the station's Facebook page, and phones began to ring with worried people about this video streaming on their Facebook pages by an unknown source. Some who had thought they recognized the girl in the video.
Zane logged onto his computer, Chase and Elliot behind him. Everyone's blood went cold. Amaya's eyes stared up, almost lifeless. Glazed over, drool pooling around her slacked jaw. Trail marks on shackled arms. Fear surged through Zane. Was she dead?
Then she gasped, "PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!" She shrieked, the camera was in her face, someone had to see her. Her eyes flashed with pain as a hooded figure in a mask shot her up again. Her eyes rolled back and she collapsed back to the ground with a nasty sound.
"Silence my lady...do not strain your angelic voice. You needn't worry. This vessel will release you soon enough...Once the moon of this planet is full, we will take our journey to our home world."
Zane recognized the voice. His face darkened with pure rage, "That bastard...He took what's mine." He needed to find her "MARK!" Zane yelled, standing and looking for Mark. "We need to trace this video. Find where it's streaming." He ordered, but Mark, the team's IT guru, was already on it, giving a thumbs up to Zane. "Find her." his blood was boiling.
Zane contacted B-Dubs to find out who the employee was and tried to track his phone's GPS. They told him that the guy quit suddenly without warning. If they hadn't streamed the video on Facebook, he would ever had been able to try and locate her. He was scared she was already dead until he heard her screaming.
Hours passed, and Zane was pacing a hole in the floor. His captain tried to send him home, but Zane wasn't having it. He hadn't slept or ate anything since he found that she was missing. Even Elliot and Chase couldn't control him. He was a man possessed. He was starting to scare people. Everyone was staying away from him.
Finally, Mark was able to pinpoint the location. An old warehouse they had done a prior drug bust at only months before. Zane geared up. As did others. Half of the department knew of the three girls. They were all worried. Zane was going to make the people who took Amaya pay. He holstered his gun.
"Zane...you're a good person. Don't do anything stupid." Chase advised, placing a hand on his friend's shoulder. He knew there was no way to keep him at the department while someone else went to get Amaya back. It would be stupid to even ask him to try. Chase just didn't want his friend to do something too drastic and lose her all together.
Eyes snapping, "I need to make them pay." Zane growled low. He wasn't himself, he was seeing red. He wanted bloodshed. "They took what's mine."
"Just bring her home safe. Don't do something that will make you lose her." Chase stared at him, eye to eye. Zane's teeth clenched tight, knowing his friend was right.
"Fuck Chase...I..." he ran a hand through his hair, he was a mess. He was exhausted and running on fumes at this point. He was going insane. "If something happens..." He let out a harsh breath, his face drained, eyes had dark bags, stubble marked his handsome face.
"Go get her." Chase slapped his shoulder. Know it would be a death wish to hold him back any longer. Amaya would need him. Chase held his side. The wounds were nearly healed but he still needed to recover from his battle with death. Plus, Serenity was a mess, and he needed to be there for her.
Elliot on the other hand geared up with his friend. He was going to try to keep Zane from going Berserk. "Let's go, man." he gave a cocky grin "Let's get your lady back." He was worried about her too, but he needed to keep the mood lighter to keep Zane from going off the deep end.
The warehouse was on the opposite side of the city, but the squad made it in record time. Negotiations were already going on by the time they arrived, as did a crowd of people. After talking with the other officers there who were trying to get Amaya release, Zane found out that they were not going to release her physically...but spiritually? Whatever the fuck that meant. Dread crept up his neck, something didn't feel right. Once he was in his swat gear, the team rushed in, guns ablaze. They sight they witnessed was disturbing. Each of the cloaked figures were scattered around in a circle. Except one. Zane's eyes flashed with rage as he saw the waiter smirking creepily. "You son of a bitch!" Zane roared going after him.
"Ahh...welcome guests...you are here to witness our ascension off this planet...our Queen will lead the way" He dug a needle into his arm before Zane was able to get his hands on him, a large amount of liquid went into his vein and he collapsed within moments.
Amaya was in the middle of the circle, a needle deep in her vein. Everyone assessed each of the other bodies. All dead.
Zane felt his heart sinking as he reached Amaya's pale, dirty body. He knew she was gone. He inched closer, she was unshackled. Dropping to his knees, Zane ripped away the needle, throwing it across the room, as far as possible. He scooped her up into his arms. "Please...no..." he held her lifeless body close. Zane felt as if his heart was going to rip in half. He was losing it, until he felt shallow, hot breaths against his neck. "Amaya?" he stared down at her pale face. Adrenaline surged through his veins again. She was alive. Standing he ran with her in his arms "I NEED HELP! NOW!" he rushed her to the nearest paramedic.
The paramedics rushed to them with a gurney and loaded her up. They immediately began assessing her vitals and applied oxygen to her.
"She was drugged." Zane chewed. He had no clue with what, but the needed to reverse any effects. "I'm coming too." he ordered in his cop voice. The paramedic looked as if he was going to object, but the danger snapping in Zane's eyes warned him. The man just nodded instead, and they shuttled the gurney into the ambulance and began to do what they did best. Keep her alive.
As Zane climbed into the ambulance, they began meds to try and reverse a possible overdose, and other IVs. Zane couldn't keep up. But she was alive, just barely. Zane felt helpless. He stroked her hair softly. He had never been this gentle with anyone before. He just hoped this wasn't the last time.
