DEAR SPRING!

(My entry for the "quote to poetry spring contest".
My poetry is based on the quote by Harriet Ann Jacobs.)

Your arrival marks the end of winter
I feel the sun shine on me,
Your warmth melting away the ice,
The cold that clinged to my heart, is now warm and nice.

You breathe life into every step you take,
The world feels more alive, refreshed and awake.
Your charm has never failed to impress,
You are worshipped as persephone, the godess.

The flowers bloom,
The birds chirp and sing,
A season full of love and colour,
Oh, welcome! Dear spring!

If only Hades could live without you,
We wouldn't need to bother,
Because when you leave, your throne will be taken by the winter,
Oh, I wish you ruled the Earth forever.

(I hope you enjoyed reading my poem😊)
