~Valentina~

Valentina arose to a bright light shining on her face.
Seriously?!! Again?! Ugh I hate brain testing days...
The heavy metal door creaked open.
"Good Morning Ms. Olvera."
Spoke a female doctor with a white lab coat, closing the door behind her.
"It's time for your-"
"Brain Examination...Yeah I know you idiot..."
Valentina scoffed.
"We will not tolerate that tone young lady...now lie down."
Valentina did as she was told and lied down. A needle went in to her arm. She felt herself going numb, just like any other brain test. Although they gave her a needle to ease the pain, it didn't. She could still feel the pain from needles coming in and out of her arms.
"So, today is the lucky day where we will finally take blood from your skull directly"
Said the doctor casually.
"We can finally figure out what's wrong with you."
Valentina started to feel panic inside her internally, but she did her best to not show it outward. Suddenly, tight metal cuffs surrounded her wrists and ankles. Her eyes looked around in fear.
"I've told you, you jerk! I don't want to be here!! So let me go!"
Valentina started to move her wrists in the tight metal cuffs. The metal cuffs then started to tighten her wrists even more.
"ayyyaa"
She squealed.
"I've told you before Ms.Olvera, the more you move, the more they tighten."
The doctor gave her a sly smile and proceeded to the procedure.
"Please don't do this...please!!"
She begged. As she pleaded, the doctor raised up scissors, and a razor.
"PLEASE!! PLEASE!! DON'T PLEASE!!"
Valentina was now screaming her head off. She tried to move in the cuffs, but they just got tighter and tighter, which made her feel as if they were going to break her weak, and fragile bones.
"STOP STOP!!"
The razor was getting close to her hair. She could feel the sound getting louder and louder- but then it's stopped. The whole procedure stopped. The needles had stopped, the razor was unplugged and the doctor had no more sinister in her eyes. The door clicked open.

At that very moment, an old man with a notice came in.
"You little b****"
The doctor told the relived 16 year old girl. Looking at the notice she exclaimed,
"You amped up the damn system...we are going to have to do it again in about another year!"
Valentina smuggled a laugh into the conversation.
"What are you laughing about?! You b****!"
In all the doctors rage, she slapped the adolescent on her cheek, with her clipboard. A streak of blood and sweat dropped down Valentina's tanned skin.

Soon enough, the doctors all went out of the room, and took off the cuffs. Valentina fell to the floor in both gratitude and happiness. She whispered into her ear:
"Picky you genius! Thanks for saving me back there"
She spit out blood from her mouth.
"Haha why thank you Val...I'm always happy to do it for you..."
"Glad to here that girl!"
There was a short, uncomfortable pause.
"What did she do to you this time?"
Picky broke the silence with a motherly tone.
"Picky, you don't wanna know..."
"Val? Please..."
"No, Picky."
"Please Val..,"
"I said NO!"
"But maybe I can-"
"Picky I said NO! NOW SHUT UP BEFORE I GET CAUGHT"
At that very moment, Val turned off her earpiece.
Parker "Picky" Kirsten Yin...
She thought to herself.
What would I do without you...
A tear fell down Valentina's cheek. Parker was Valentina's best friend. They had been for almost 14 years. They had both met one day at daycare and were inseparable from that day forward. Parker had long black hair, that she would always put up in a messy bun whenever her and Valentina would plan a scheme. Besides that, she loved how she had a competitive sporty drive to her. It always connected really well with her girly-kind personality. To top it all off, she was the only one who really believed Valentina about her "mental illness".

"Our young heroine was born less than normal...she was born extraordinary. She has a power to control waters and mentally retrieve what people are thinking, but only when she experiences real emotion."
Doctors would say.
"She has a real talent..."
Valentina had grown to learn that all they said about her being extraordinary was a fat load of bull. No one, not even her own parents, believed her. Worst part is no matter how hard she tried, she could never show them. They were always either passed out drunk, or out in the streets, high. Once her parents had learned about the whole "water bending" situation, and how much the so called "treatment" cost, they started to get loopy. So, the only person Valentina ever had was Parker. Parker had always helped Valentina ignore everyone who told her she was crazy, or insane. In time, Parker had seen her power come to life...but even before she saw it, she still believed. Valentina could have never asked for anyone as amazing as Parker.

Parker had sneaked in a communicating earpiece one day during her visit, and had given it to Val. It helped her track down Val, and help her in anyway possible by jacking the system.

Valentina got tears in her eyes once more, and turned on her earpiece.
"Parker?"
She whispered.
"Hey...you-"
"They were about to kill me...they-t-they w-were about-a-about t-to-"
As fast as a blink of an eye, Val saw the ceiling vent open up. Parker jumped from it.
"Come over here."
She called. Valentina ran into her arms.
"PARKER I CANT ANYMORE PLEASE! I-I want t-to g-go -home.."
Valentina said between sobs and yells.
"Shhh shh...hey Val I'll get you out of here...I promise..."
Val looked up into the eyes of her best friend.
"Thank you...I-"
"Shhh shh...I know, I know...I won't give up on you..."
Val sat, sobbing into her best friends shoulder.
Extraordinary...
She thought.
I can finally define the word...
Without hesitating, her thought directed to
Parker
