Sheo: chaos

Chapter 1

Shai's pov

"Jason Dylan Taptiklis!" I shout from downstairs at my 10 year old son who is upstairs, stalling to go to school. "If you are not down here dressed for school in 2 minutes, i'm going to lose my mind!"

"I'm pretty sure you already did that when you decided to have Alison!" He shouts back

I sigh and rest my elbows on the island in our kitchen and my forehead in my hands. Theo has been away shooting a movie in Hawaii for the past two months. It's been really hard not having him here and our kids; Jason, Alison and Lucas really miss him. Jason's been really stubborn and sad lately and i think it's because his 11th birthday is in 2 days and he's upset that Theo won't be there. Oh my god. I completely forgot about his birthday. Crap. I gotta plan something in 2 days.

That's when Jason walks into the kitchen wearing a short sleeved red shirt with a comic on it and blue jeans with a blue hoodie and bright green nike runners.

"Happy?" He asks annoyed.

I walk over to him and wrap my arms around him. Pulling him in for a hug. He's shocked for a few seconds but then wraps his arms around me.

"I love you Jason. " i tell him

"I love you too mom". He says

We pull apart and i smile at him and he smiles back. I hand him his backpack.

"Go get 'em tiger" i say lightly pushing him out of the kitchen. He stumbles a bit chuckling but then regains himself and i follow him.

We walk into the living room to see my 6 year old daughter Alison wearing skinny jeans and an animal hoodie with the face of a monkey on the front with the ears on the hood and purple nike runners and her long light brown hair pulled up in a tight high pony tail watching My Little Pony on the couch and my 10 month old son Lucas sitting in his playpen gnawing on a frozen teething toy looking up at the ceiling wearing an orange t-shirt with a skull on it and dark blue jeans. And blue socks.

"Ali, time to go. " i say walking over to Lucas and picking him up out of his playpen and resting him on my hip. I pick up the teething toy and hand it to Lucas. He takes it and starts gnawing on it again.

"Okay" she says turning the tv off and grabbing her backpack and goes to stand with Jason.

Jason opens the front door and walks out into the cool morning air. Alison and i follow. We walk to the car and i unlock it. Jason climbs into the passenger seat and Alison buckles herself into her booster seat and i put Lucas in his carseat who hasn't let go of the teething toy. He grins at me as i buckle him in. He has Theo's grin. The grin that i fell in love with. The grin that when i see it i can't help but grin back. So i do.

I hop in the driver's seat and drive to their school. It's like a 2 minute drive but it's on the way to mommy and me so i drive them. I pull up in front of their school and Alison leans forward and pecks my cheek and so does Jason.

"Have a good day!" I say cheerfully as they get out of the car.

"Thanks mom!" They say in unison and then run up to their classroom doors.

I drive off to mommy and me. As i'm driving, my phone rings and Theo's picture pops up on my phone screen. I really want to answer it but i'm driving so i put it on speaker.

"Hi baby!" I say cheerfully.

"Hey babe!" He replies trying to sound cheerful but i can tell he's tired.

"Tired?" I ask

"Yeah. " he breathes

"I miss you" i tell him

"I miss you and the kids so much, you can't even imagine" he says sadly

"How's shooting?" I ask

"Tiring but fun as always. " he explains "Of course, not as much fun as i had when i was shooting with you. "

"Whatcha doing right now?" I ask

"I'm on a break" he breathes "How are the kids?"

"Well Jason has been really upset and stubborn that you're not going to be here for his birthday" i explain

"Ah." He says. "I'm so sorry about that by the way. I really want to be there. "

"It's fine but anyways, i've been so busy with the kids that i completely forgot about his birthday until this morning and now i have to throw a great party in 2 days." I confess

"Oh babe. " he says sympathetically. "I'm so sorry"

"It's not your fault" i tell him

"I shouldn't have left. " he says

"You had to. " i say "It's an amazing opportunity"

"And i'm bringing home the big bucks. " he says jokingly in a deep sexy voice and i laugh.

"Of course. " i say still laughing.

"Kids at school?" He asks

"Yep but i have Luke here and we are on our way to mommy and me. " i say "You wanna talk to him?"

"Absolutely, i do. " he says and i hold the phone into the backseat.

"Luke, daddy's on the phone" i say cheerfully

"Hey little man," Theo says cheerily. Lucas starts babbling baby talk and i smile as Theo pretends to listen by saying things like: "really?" And "wow". He's such a great dad. After about 2 minutes i say,

"Alright, Luke say goodbye to daddy. " he babbles some more and Theo says bye to Lucas.

"You are an amazing father" i say

"Me?" He says "I'm not the one that has managed 2 months with 3 kids as a single mother!" He exclaims "i would never be able to do that. You are the amazing one. "

"Awww shucks" i say. I hear a distant male voice yell"Theo. Return to set"

"Hey, listen, i gotta get back to set but i will Skype you later when the kids are home so i can see them. "He says" in the meantime, give them a big hug and kiss for me and tell them that i miss them and that i love them"

"Okay" i say sadly

"I love you so much, Shai!"

"I love you too Theo!"

"I'll see you later!" He says

"Yes" i say and with that i hang up.

I pull into the parking lot to where they have Mommy and Me. We had a fun time talking and dancing. After Mommy and Me, i text my mom to see if she would want to go out for lunch with Lucas and i. She said yes and we met her at White Spot. We sat down and i put Lucas in the high chair. The waitress asked for our order for drinks. My mom and i got a water with lemon and i get a milk for Lucas.

"How are you Shai?" My mom asks me.

"I'm.......I don't know mom. I'm exhausted dealing with the kids without Theo. " i say and my mom nods.

"Have you talked to him lately?" She asks

"Yeah, i talked to him this morning on our way to mommy and me. " i tell her

"How is he?" She asks and i laugh.

"Well, it sounds like i'm not the only on that's exhausted. " I laugh and she does too.

The waitress comes back with our drinks. I pour the milk into Lucas' bottle and add the formula and set it on the table. I pick Lucas up out of the high chair and cradle him in my lap. I hand him the bottle and he sticks it in his mouth. After he finishes, he falls asleep. My mom and i talk and laugh at lunch and then i head home. I put Lucas down for a nap and have one myself. I lay on the couch with cup of tea and watch The Big Bang Theory. Eventually, i find myself dozing off.
