Chapter 1

Sly's POV

"Ok Sly, I hacked through the security system and all that's left for you to do is to distract the audience while Murry will do the job of taking the clockwork wings." Bentley said through the headphones.

"Thanks pal" I said with a smirk on my face and made my way to the dance floor where inspector Carmelita Mintoya, my arch enemy, was waiting for a gentleman to come and dance with her. I walked up to her and reached my hand out. She looked up at me with her petfect, blue eyes and raised and eyebrow. "And who might you be?" she asked, suspicious of my identity.

"My name is Edward Claremont, and I came here to steal your heart, gorgeous." I said with a smirk and winked at her. She seemed to have relaxed but it was obvious that she was still suspicious of my identity but she still took my hand.

I walked her to the middle if the dance floor right in front of the boss, Sir Galoth Paradox. What a fat-ass. Ok so I have to distract him using my spectacular dance moves, while Murry takes the wings. I started dancing to the beat of the music and all eyes were on me and Carmelita. But my eyes were focused on the boss and the clockwork wings that were attached to his seat.

Suddenly, they started moving which was a signal that Murry was doing his job right. "Ehhmm" I looked back at Carmelita and saw her staring at me with one eye brow raised. I let out a nervous laugh and she opened her mouth to say something. "You look familiar.

Have we met before?" She asked. I think she noticed that I was staring at the boss but I am not gonna let my cover blown just yet. "If we had met before, I wouldn't be this late in coming after you. The first time I saw you, my heart started to beat fast and it felt like it was gonna explode. I'm your captive." I smirked and brought my face closer to hers.

She didn't flinch at all and had that stiff expression on her face. " O....k" she said but I could feel her eyes focused on me so I have to be careful in not to do anything stupid. "Sly, come in. You hear me? Murry got the wings and brought them back safely! now is your chance to escape!" Bentley said through the head phones.

I smirked and bowed down, holding Carmelita's hand and kissing it lightly. "You have made this night unforgettable but I must leave. I can't have you successful in arresting me for the first time, inspector Carmelita Mintoya." She looked at me confused but eventually realised what it meant and releasing a huge gasp. "COOPER!!!!"

I started running towards the window. I smashed through it and saw Bentley and Murry in the van along with the clockwork wings. I ran towards them and felt bullets passing by me and Carmelita screaming at me "COME BACK HERE YOU NO GOOD, LYING, THIEF!!!!!" But I didn't care and kept moving towards the van. I hopped in and the van went full speed ahead.

We reached the hideout safely with the wings. For some reason, the security guards were too easy. This was really weird. Wait! don't tell me......! I reached out for the giant wings and held them up towards the moon, scanning each and every diamond of it. Just as I expected. This is a fake! I walked up to where Bentley and Murry were and told them about it. Bentley started scanning the wings as found something interesting in them. It was a letter. And it says "To: Sly Cooper" I opened the letter and was surprised by what I just read.

"Dear Sly. If you're reading this then I'm sure that you already know that these wings are a fake which was why I didn't put a lot of security around it. The real thing is somewhere safe where you can't get you're dirty hands on them. But, we could have a fair fight over them. If you come by tomorrow at 8:00 pm at mountain N/A ALONE then we can have a little wager over them. If you win you take the wings but if you lose, I take your life. I'll wait there for an hour, if you're not there by that time then I'll leave.

Your cute little Carmelita is also gonna be there. If you want here to live, then you'd better show up.

Oh no! I can't risk Carmelita's life! we had been arch enemies for as long as I remember but she is the first woman that I have fallen for. "Ok guys, it seems as though we have to go and rescue Carmelita and get the wings from that fat ass.

The next day

7:59 pm. "ok it's time for me to go. Don't forget the plan." I said as I got off the van. "But sly, I thought Galoth told you to come ALONE?" Bentley asked. "Do you really think that he is gonna play fair? don't forget that I only steal from criminals. Which means he's a criminal. And criminals lie." I said and started walking towards the top of the mountain and could make out a few figures

Carmelita who was tied up and was sitting down on a rock in between two scary looking guards and sir Galoth in front if them all. I walked up and everyone's eyes turned my way. "Well, if it isn't cooper. Who said he wasn't gonna come, huh Carmelita?"

I looked at Carmelita who had a look if anger and sadness. "Why did you come, you idiot!" she exclaimed. "I can't risk the life of my arch enemy like that. Especially since it's a gorgeous woman such as yourself." I answered with a smirk and winked at her. She glared at me but I looked back at Galoth.

"Let's settle the deed, shall we?" I asked and he smirked and said "you sure do have guts, kid. But they ain't gonna get you anywhere." He said and took a gun out of his pocket. "Now!" I exclaimed and ducked down.

A stun-gun that Bentley shot up at Sir Galoth made him loose consciousness. His guards ran up to me and Bentley but Murry took care of them. "No one messes with The Murry's friends!" he exclaimed and beat the crap out of them. I smiled as I saw the clockwork wing in the car that belongs to Sir Galoth and stared running towards it when I suddenly felt a tip of a gun touching my back. I put my hands up with no resistance. ";don't move, you no good lying thief!"

I heard Carmelita's voice and smiled to myself. As rough and serious as ever. "Slowly, turn around and don't try to pull anything on me" I did as she said and started turning around until I came face to face with her. She was as beautiful as ever which let me release a sigh without noticing. She glared at me with her beautiful eyes and I stared at them in my dream land.

She sighed and started speaking. "10" she said and I looked at her confused. "What?" I asked confused. "I said I'll give you 10 seconds head counts since you saved my life. I'll start chasing you after the 10 seconds are over." She said and put her gun down. "10......9...." she started counting down with handcuffs in her hand but I didn't move. I stood there with a smirk on my face.

Carmelita's POV.

"10........9......" I started counting down and held my handcuffs in my hand but he didn't move instead had a smirk in his face and just stood there. Is he ok? I'm giving him a chance to escape and he is standing there just like that, SMIRKING?! "8.......7.......6......5......4.....3" he started walking towards me still smirking. "2....2........" I said but he still approached me with the smirk until his face was only a few inches away from mine.

"1!" as the words left my mouth, I felt something warm and gentle press against my lips. I stood there, not knowing what to do but knew exactly what was going on. Sly Cooper, the thief just kissed me. As his lips left mine, I could feel hearts floating around. "Sorry, Carmelita but I have to go now" he waved me goodbye and it took me a few seconds to realise that I......
