Ok so, my explanation for this topic is half ghosts can have possessions. For example, Vlad's was to have a family and Danny's was to protect. It's just if they do not fade like full ghosts do when they get what they want, realize they can't do or have it, or give up on their obsession. However, full ghosts do not fade when they get what they want if their obsession is something like Vlad's or Desiree's, she wanted to feel love again and to have family. This is because if they do get a family or a lover the most likely do not want to leave their family or lover. So the ancients with clockworks help made it so full ghosts will not fade I'd their obsession involves love. Half ghosts do not fade because they still have a human side. However, if they give up on their obsession their ghost half starts killing their human half but this dies not star happening until their human half is around 30. Vlad's human half was 36 when he got what he wanted, his ghost half just made it seem he was older. Danny just turned 16 around this time, 2 years after he met Vlad, 6 after Vlad's ghost half started to feed off the energy from his human half which was causing him to age faster. Once he asked out Desiree and she said yes his ghost half started to slow down from feeding off the energy which was when around when Vlad was 35 Danny was 15. So about a year after Danny met Vlad. Vlad and Desiree got marred about a month after Danny turned 17 and that is when Vlad's ghost half stopped feeding off the energy.
