My dream wasn't ordinary, the only thing I saw was... some kind of mettalic water. The ripples repeated and repeated, then a reflection of that umbrella grandpa appeared. Then I woke up.
I opened my eyes forcefully, and when I tried to rub the sleep from my eyes, I was met with the same mettalic water from my dream. I freaked out, I looked at my other hand, it was thankfully normal. My mom burst through the door along with my dad, who had a pan in his hands ready to swing it anytime.
"Ronnie?" Mom called out to dad while I sat at the bed with soft weeps.
My dad seemed to know what mom meant, he looked distraught. And so I asked him, "dad? Tell me... please"
He looked even more sad as my shaking voice rang in his ears. "I wish there was another way honey. We'll explain on the way"

They told me everything. How I was born. They weren't so sure if I was one of the 43, because the day before I was born, they had intercourse. They had doubts, until this day. For the whole time, my hand- my liquid hand whirled around, like it's waiting for something.
We arrived in the umbrella academy's mansion. "We promise nothing will happen to you" my mom reassured me. "We'll comeback for you when Reginald says that you've controlled it" my dad added.
We exited the car, making sure I used the normal hand to exit. A chimpanzee stood behind the bars. "Good afternoon mr. And mrs. Flockhelm, it is a pleasure to have you here" the chimpanzee scanned my parents then me "and you must be Madyline" the chimpanzee smiled, I smiled back. "Please call me Maddie" "a very polite young child" it took out its hand for me to shake. "Pogo"

"Follow me. Master Hargreeves is waiting for you in his office" Pogo led us to an office, it sure seemed... woody.
"Master Hargreeves, mr and mrs. Flockhelm are here" said the Chimpanzee in front of us.
"So you've finally come to a decision after 13 years?" My dad was silent and mom hung her head low. They definitely have met before.
"We didn't know Reginald--" "how much for her?" we were all taken aback by the sudden question. I saw a glimpse of my dad clenching his fist.
"We are not here to sell our only daughter!" My mom held back my dad, "we're only here to hand you our daughter to teach her. Teach her to control it" this Reginald guy looked at me then at my hands.
"How many years?" Reginald asked, "for as long as it takes" mom answered. They waited for Reginald's approval, I waited for this liquid hand to stop whirling around. God I want a pan to knock me out right now.
Just then extreme pain shot out from my liquid hand, I screamed in pain. It hurt, like every bone in my hand was breaking, I cried for help whilst my mom cradled me in her arms. I fell down, mom tried to calm me down by cradling me more like a baby. Pogo stood back as Reginald dude looked at my hand, like my dream...
The pain suddenly stopped and a pan formed in my hand, wait so if I think of it, it forms into that?
"Fascinating" he looked at my han- pan in amazement, would've been me if it weren't so painful fucki--
"I'll teach her. If you let me make her part of the academy." Reginald dude proposed. Mom and dad looked at each other then me.
"Alright. On a condition that nothing happens to her"
"You have my word"

"Children" a bunch of kids my age line up in front of me and Reginald dude. Each one of them looked at us with no emotions. I'm starting to think this is a private military school. Mom, dad, I love but what the fu-
"She will be part of the academy, I would like all of you to welcome her in the academy as no. 7, you may call her by her name, Madilyn. And yes Vanya, you'll be number 8." So I'm part of this now, I definitely should not celebrate. This kids don't exactly give the welcoming type.
"I will leave all of you to give your own introductions to miss Madilyn" with that Monocle dude leaves. Ah sh*t.
The kids look at me, and I look at them. tHE KIDS LoOK At ME, aND I lOOk aT tHeM. Okay now's not the time to be thinking of vines. One of the kids with blonde hair clears his throat, "my name's Luther, this is Diego" gesturing to a black haired kid, should I really be calling them kids, I mean we're the same age-
Diego gives a small wave as Luther gestures to the others, "allison, Klaus, Five, Ben and Vanya" luther then looks at me and smiles, as if waiting for a response. "Um... Madilyn- you can call me Maddie or- actually you know what just Maddie" "just Maddie?" Five spoke up and he smirks, "still getting used to us? Well don't worry you'll fit in just fine" I don't know if that was supposed to make me feel comfortable or very threatened.
"Don't mind him" said the two girls, Vanya and Allison. "He just hadn't had his fluffernutter yet" I awkwardly chuckle at them, "let's get you settled in, yeah?" Suggested Vanya, I nod.

After lying down on the bed for around 18 minutes, I tried to shapeshift my hand. I focused on the object I wanted the most right now. A motherf*cking noose. I looked at my hand and it was a noose, it surprisingly wasn't painful. Maybe objects that have less weight have less pain? That could possibly be it. I focused on my hand-noose as it swayed back and forth. Then I just blacked out.

The sound of a bell rang outside, even here there's a f*cking alarm clock!?
"Wake up children, breakfast will be ready soon. You all have playtime for 4 hours" a female voice- I'm guessing their 'mom'- was heard outside. I heard footsteps passing by my door, and then someone just burst the door open.
"AHH MOTHER OF F*CKNESS" I look at the door to see Vanya there. "Oh sorry I guess you were busy but um it's time to wake up. You have some clothes in the drawer" she points at the drawer near my bed. "And um take a bath before you head downstairs, if you want to you can play with me and I'll teach you some Violin tricks" she smiles at me, how can I say no to that face? That as hella cute. No homo though. I nodded and she took that cue as a sign to leave and go back to the others.
I look at the drawer beside my bed, I opened it and the only clothes I have there was the same ass uniform. I took one and dusted it a bit. God, what did I do to deserve powers as painful as this.

I join the others, Luther and Allison were in the kitchen, Diego was throwing knives. Shish wouldn't wanna have a knife fight with that dude. Ben and Klaus were nowhere to be found, they're probably in their rooms. Vanya was um... "looking for Vanya?" I turn around and face Five, gosh why did I have to be stuck with this guy. "She's in the living room." He interupted me before I could speak, he smiled at me. Okay cute but no. "And I believe we got on the wrong foot" he held out his hand for me to shake, I took it willingly. "My name's Five, Five Hargreeves." "Madilyn, Madilyn Flockhelm" he chuckled at me and handed me a sandwhich which is probably the fluffernutter Allison was talking about. "Well Maddie or no. 7, welcome to the umbrella academy" I took the fluffernutter and let Five walk me through the mansion.
