I shot up from my bed, hearing the familiar annoying ringing on my side cabinet. I groaned and smashed the alarm clock with my hand, making it stop and also destroying it in the process. I hear my mom calling me from downstairs, "Clover Hampton, get out of bed this instant!"
Hearing my mom call me by my full name, I knew I must have done something to piss her off. I groaned and forced myself out of bed, "Hold on, I'm going to take a shower and get ready for school."
"Well, hurry up, will you?" My mom shouted back, louder than before.
I grabbed my towel and headed for the bathroom. As I brushed my teeth, I turned on the shower. I heard a knock on the door, and with a weak but loud knock like that, I knew it was my brother, Jack.
"I'm in the shower," I said.
"Have you seen my phone? I remember I left it in your room," Jack asked.
"And why would it be in my room?" Seriously, I already have a phone, why in the world would I need his.
"Oh, I don't know," he continued, "maybe because you took it last night because I was 'too loud'."
Ohhhhh, that's why, "Ah, that reminds me, if you're ever going to talk that loud again with your girlfriend, I'm telling mom to throw your phone away."
"Ugh, where is it?" Jack groaned and knocked on the door again but harder. He knows I hate it when people knock when I already made my presence known.
"Probably in my drawer, the one where I broke my stupid alarm clock," I replied. "And also, please, buy me a new alarm clock, one that doesn't make me want to break it even worse."
"Yeah, sure. Also, I'm driving you to school today," Jack's voice was fading away, which means he found his phone and also, means that I don't get to drive with grumpy mom. Ahh, I love my brother.
I stripped my clothes off and went into the shower. As the hot water run along my bare body, my mind instantly went on thinking about why my mom could be mad about.
Is it because I left the lights on? No, can't be. I would probably get an earful but nothing worse than that. Did she notice that I ate a slice of her chocolate cake? Nah, she'll want me to have it since she can't finish it.
Ah, whatever. It's probably nothing. Anyway, school is starting today after a long summer holiday. I don't know whether I should feel excited or stressed, but I'm sure as hell feeling both. Excited because I get to see all my friends back and talk about what we all did during our holidays. Stress because I get to see the teachers that I don't like again and expect a lot of homework from them.
Well, they should be prepared to see a lot of classes that I'll never be present. SO its fair for you and me! God, I don't even know why I'm still in this school. But it's nice to see the reaction of teacher's faces when I pass.
Hey, I'm great in studies okay, I just don't like to take any crappy shit from people.
I walked downstairs, greeted by a very, very raging mother. I looked at my father, who was reading a newspaper and giving me a look that indicates that he cannot save me this time. Well, I guess I'll be digging my grave.
"Good morning, my lovely mother," I tried to give her a warm smile, but her deadly glares made it crooked. "You look absolutely stunning in that apron."
My mother rolled her eyes and smiled sarcastically, "I got a call from your school last night."
"And?" I sat down and took a bite of the bacon.
"They said that you were caught skipping class with your friends," she explained, giving me a disappointing look.
"Woah, Mom, I didn't even go to school yesterday," I said, trying to lighten the mood a little but it was a no show as the glares become more deadly, "it was a Sunday."
