All they did was bang on the windows and the door even more. I froze. How could this even be? Only these things existed in shows or movies, not in real life.
The banging got louder, and I swore I heard the wood of the door crack a bit. Shit, if we don't do anything about it, it'll break any minute. I wanted to do something but I couldn't. I couldn't move. I was helpless.
Everyone was panicking, and I knew that if everyone stayed calm and quiet, we'd find a way out more quickly, but I couldn't bring my mouth to say a word. I was speechless.
"Clover," a faded voice called out to me.
"Clover, snap out of it," the same faded voice called out to me, but it got louder.
Then I felt a hot burning sensation on my left cheek. It fucking hurts. "Clover!" Charlotte yelled. "Snap out of it, we need to find a way out!"
Then I was back to reality. The noises and screaming were louder. "Did you fucking slap me?"
"We'll deal with that later, right now we got bigger problems to tend too," she pointed at the vast amount of zombies outside of the class.
I looked around the classroom and saw the teacher's desk; barricade the door first. I rushed over to the desk and flipped it upwards. "What are you doing?" Blake asked.
"We need to barricade the door," I attempted to push it towards the door, but it was a slow process, "help me!"
Blake nodded and run beside me, pushing the desk towards the door. "Great, now we need a way out," I mumbled to myself.
I looked at Max, "Try and make everyone calm the fuck down first."
"That's going to be hard work," Max sighed. "I'll see what I can do."
"Good," I looked at Judy and Blake. "You two tell me whether the windows and door are going to break because I don't think, so it'll hold long."
Both of them nodded, "Charlotte, help me find a way out!"
She nodded, and I started scanning the whole room. There's got to be a way out. There has to be. "Clover!" I turn my head to whenever the voice was, and it led to Charlotte at the other side of the classroom window. Of course. It will always have to be the window.
I practically ran all the way to her, "It's our only option."
I looked down, hoping it isn't too high for us to jump down. But of course, it won't be that easy. We're on the third floor of this God damn school. "We'll break our bones if we jump down like this."
"Can that work?" Charlotte pointed at the ledge of the side of the window and it has a path which directly leads to the staff room window.
"It's our only shot."
"Uh, guys," Blake called out as I can already hear the glass breaking. Fuck. "We have a problem."
"Charlotte, you go first, now!" Charlotte nodded and jumped to the ledge. Just when she got out, the windows shattered and zombies began to crawl in. "Get your asses over here!"
Max grabbed Judy and ran over to me, following Charlotte to the staff room. Blake tried to help some of the students that were getting bit, but it wasn't going to be enough. "Blake, we can't save them," I called out to him.
He turned around, "But we can't just leave them here!"
"Blake, it's either you save yourself, and you get to see another day, or you can just die here. It's up to you," I told him. "But I sure am going to save myself because I need to go and find my family."
