Much love, Drom ❤️~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lyra looked at the scorched mark on the family tree that used to depict her twin with tears forming in her eyes, before the door slammed open, revealing her parents enraged faces,
"You dare to cry over that disgrace? You dare to dishonour us further by shedding tears for someone who turned his back on our family?"
"He turned his back on us? Really mother? He's not the one offering his children up to the dark lord to make them one of his death eaters, Sirius isn't the one blindly following a deranged psychopath in their mission to eradicate innocent people just because of their parentage. If anyone has betrayed their own blood and dishonoured our family its you two." She seethed, speaking through a clenched jaw.
Lyra's parents went red with rage; their gazes hardened and their fists balled. The fifteen year old braced herself for the beating that was surely coming, and her parents did not dissappoint, beating her till she was bruised, bloody and unable to move before spitting on her broken body and turning their backs to her.
That was only the beginning.
The beatings and abuse only got worse with every attempt the remaining Black siblings made to defend their brother, Lyra taking the brunt of their parents anger as she refused to let them hurt Regulus.
The two walked on eggshells in their own home, afraid to even look at their parents for fear it would set them off again, the anticipation was the worst part; they knew it was coming it was just a matter of time.
Lyra kept her brother away from the household heads, trying to keep her promise of protecting Regulus, knowing it was highly likely they would force him to take the dark make in lieu of Sirius, seeing as he was now the heir to the throne of the Black family.
And what a kingdom it was. Thriving on depravity and malice, it was a wonder their reputation hadn't been tarnished long ago, those that disagreed with the debauched notions are cast out while the rest of them turned their backs.
Regulus begged his sister to leave, to join Sirius at James' house, but she refused. She refused to leave him on his own with no form of protection, without comfort, without love. She would only leave if he left with her, which had caused many hushed disagreements between the two.
That all changed when their parents told them Lucius' family had been invited round for dinner. Now dinner was an ordeal as it was, but with guests coming over for a supposedly 'important' meal, their mother was being extra vile to the house elves that were preparing everything and towards her children.
"Girl, if you so much as speak out of turn tonight you will regret it for the rest of your miserable existence your father has convinced Abraxas to agree to a marriage contract, so help me if you ruin it my wrath will be the least of your concerns."
"I will not marry him. He is as self-centered as they come, arrogant and rude. He's a despicable person, with no respect for anyone, I wouldn't marry a man who'd treat me as if I weren't fit to breathe the same air as him." She stood her ground against her mother, a fierce determination in her eyes, but that would never be enough to dissuade the waking nightmare that is walburga black.
"You WILL marry him if you wish to remain a Black, you think me and your father love each other? No, this is a marriage for alliances and the redemption of our family name, your opinions of him have no bearing on the situation." Her mother sneers, before a house elf arrived in the room to announce the arrival of the Malfoys and they both made their way to the dining room.
Dinner went as well as it could have under the circumstances, with everyone knowing the reason for the meal and the company; excluding Regulus that is. It was after they had eaten that everything started to fall apart, their fathers insisting that Lucius and Lyra walk around the garden and get to know each other better.
The walk was awkward to say the least, the girl hated him, and he knew it.
"I will not marry you Malfoy. Never. You disgust me." It came out of the blue, but they both knew she meant it.
"You will, whether you like it or not, you'll be my wife and give me my heirs." The blond hissed gripping her wrists tightly, making her wince, "even if I have to force you."
He pushed her up against the wall, keeping a tight hold on her as she tried to fight him off of her,
"You are mine. The contract has already been signed by our fathers. I will have you, whenever and however I please, is that clear?" His free hand was slowly wandering to the hem of the dress her mother had insisted she wear, sending waves of repulsion through her body; both at his words and his touch.
"I will never be yours you revolting bastard! now get your disgusting hands off me!" she screamed, before spitting at him, making him flinch back in shock as the spittle hit his face, his arm swung and sent her head into the wall besides them. Dizziness overtook her and a bright red hand print adorned her left cheek,
leaving her too disoriented to fight back any longer. The blond used this to his advantage, pinning her with one hand used his free hand to reach for his zipper. The Malfoy heir had freed himself from his clothes on his bottom half and was about to do the same to the dazed girl he'd restrained when he was hit by a stunning spell from behind.
"Get your dirty fucking hands off my sister you bastard." Before he swings his fist in a mighty right hook, knocking the older boy out cold.
"Lyra, Ly, are you okay? Can you walk?" He waited for his sister to groan in response before helping her up and practically carrying her to her room.
He gently sat her down on her bed and kissed her forehead he pulled out her hogwarts trunk, along with a large duffle bag and her backpack, all of which had had an undetectable extension charm placed upon them in first year.
Regulus had almost finished packing up her room before Lyra came out of her shocked daze,
"What are you doing Reggie?" It wasn't more than a whisper, but in the silence of the room, it was as loud as a gunshot.
"You're going to James's to live with him and Siri. You're not safe here, not while our parents are trying to do this to you." He stated, his tone of voice was one that brooked no argument, so of course that's what his sister did,
"No. I'm not leaving without you. You know as well as I what they'll do to you without me here to stop them." Lyra's voice; that was already quivering, completely cracked as she spoke to her baby brother.
"We can't all leave Ly, maybe I can stop them from disowning you too, and maybe when I become lord Black I can reinstate all those that our parents cut out, think about it, cousin Andromeda could have her family back, little Nymphie could know who we are properly." His ambitions and loyalty to family were
admirable, and the epitome of a Slytherin, but she knew it would be the eventual death of her brother."Regulus Arcturus Black. Get it through your thick skull I'm not leaving you. Either you come with me or we both stay here and suffer, there is no scenario in this where I leave you behind." If the black siblings were anything, it was stubborn, and once they had made up their mind they were immovable.
So when she heard Regulus's sigh of resignation she knew she had won.
"Fine, let me get packed, I'll meet you back in here with my things and then we'll get the knight bus to James's, make sure you're ready and that I haven't missed anything when I packed your stuff."
