It takes me a minute to understand.

"Asylum?"

"They're from the southern pack, Roger's been...challenged."

I hold my breath. Roger was a friend of my father, and I once knew his sons pretty well.

"What happened?"

"He's dead."

"Jayden and Tim?"

My dad shakes his head and I stumble.

"Who challenged?"

"Aaron, his beta. He said Roger was getting old and weak. When Roger died Jayden and Tim submitted but they died during the night. They knew them bowing wouldn't be enough, they'd started packing, but I guess they didn't expect things to go that far."

"And these men?"

"When Jayden and Tim were found dead it caused a bit of a stir in the pack. Aaron couldn't kill any other wolf, so he gave them a choice, swear loyalty and take a blood oath. Or leave the territory."

"And you took them in?? Aaron is not gonna like it."

"And I don't like him killing a dead alpha's sons for no reason, he'll deal."

I sigh.

"Dad, we're already mixing with humans more than we should, ten more men...they're gonna draw attention. Especially those men."

"Why especially them?"

My dad looks confused and I grin.

"They either look like Greek Gods or beasts. Or both."

The alpha starts laughing then.

"Honey, we all look like Greek Gods and beasts. You just never noticed."

"Well that's...presumptuous."

He shakes his head, still smiling.

"So, who are the three wolves who were so close to you and the others who looked bored behind them?"

"Gael was Roger's third, Scott and Rhys were Jayden and Tim's best friends. Both betas. The others, as you said, are omegas and healers. They're loyal to Gael."

I nod.

"So I'm guessing the betas are staying here and the omegas and healers are staying at Ty's?"

My dad frowns and starts pacing.

"Ty doesn't have enough room... so we'll also keep three omegas here, they'll share a room."

I cross my arms on my chest and raise a brow.

"I won't cook. Or clean their stuff. Or anything else for them."

He smirks.

"Wouldn't cross my mind."

I kiss his cheek and open his door.

"Night dad."

"Good night."

I close the door behind me and freeze as I see the ten men lined up against the wall.

"I guess I should welcome you then."

My wolf snarls.

Ssh.

Gael extends his hand again and I shake it with an apologetic smile.

"May we remember," I whisper.
