Chapter 1
TJ ran after her friend. Her hand throbbed after punching Dean, but she paid no heed to it and ran after Amaya who seemed like she was going towards the courtyard balcony.
With a few more fast strides, TJ caught up with Amaya and held her arm to stop her. TJ was surprised she was not only walking but almost running in those heels.
"Amy, listen to me!" TJ exclaimed. Amaya turned to face her, panting and on the verge of tears.
"You kissed him!" Amaya shouted.
"Amy I didn't! I punched him!" TJ told her. Slowly Amaya's mouth twitched up.
"You punched him?" She asked. TJ nodded.
"I would never do that to you, Amy. I don't know what came over him. Dean said he likes me," TJ told her. She couldn't understand, Dean liked Amaya, it was so clear.
"He does, TJ. He likes you. He likes you and I love him," Amaya sobbed. Tears fell from her eyes as TJ wiped them away and hugged her friend.
"Fuck him then," TJ said and then realized the double meaning of her sentence. "No, no. That came out wrong. Don't fuck him. I meant screw him," TJ said pulling away from her friend. Amaya chuckled. TJ groaned, not again. "Shit! No, I mean...I'm sorry Amy" She apologized, but Amaya just laughed.
"It's okay, TJ. You already helped," Amaya told her with a smile. TJ smiled back.
Suddenly the girls heard a loud blast.
"What was that?" Amaya asked, her eyes wide at the sound. They were the only people in the corridor.
"It came from the Hall of Remembrance. Let's go and see," TJ pointed seeing smoke coming and Amaya nodded.
Someone might need their help.
There was another blast, it was much louder than the first one and it came with a scream. A woman's scream. Calista Thorton's scream.
"Ms. Thorton!" TJ exclaimed with wide eyes and ran towards the hall.
"TJ, wait!" Amaya shouted as she broke into a run behind her roommate.
"Ms. Thorton!" TJ exclaimed as she reached the hall. It was a mess. Nothing remained of the hall, just dust, and rubble.
TJ's eyes fell on Ms. Thorton, she had a wound on her head and her arms. She seemed to be unconscious as a man carried her. He seemed like was having no issues in carrying her. He smiled at Calista, and before TJ could do anything, they disappeared.
"No!" TJ mumbled and thought of making a portal to Calista. She waved her hands but nothing happened. She did it again, but still nothing. She tried again, still, no portal opened.
"NO!" TJ shouted, just as Amaya entered the hall.
"TJ!" She exclaimed and ran to her friend who looked like was in shock. "Are you okay, TJ?" Amaya asked.
"Amy, a man...a man took Ms. Thorton and I couldn't make a portal to her!" TJ exclaimed, running her hands through her hair. "Amy, that portal didn't open! Ms. Thorton..." TJ was mumbling.
"TJ, TJ! It will be okay. We'll find her," Amaya tried to console her panicked friend who looked like would cry any minute.
"No, it's not okay Amy. That portal didn't open. It was supposed to open!" TJ cried, her eyes were watering now, Amaya didn't know what to do. Their headmistress was kidnapped.
