"She is, TJ," A familiar voice said, "Calista Thorton really is your mother," It was Arabella who said it and TJ turned at the voice of her mother.
TJ looked like she would burst into tears and Arabella didn't know how to handle her now. Sure, she knew this day would come, but she thought Calista would be here to manage everything like she always did.
"No," a tear escaped TJ's eyes as Asher wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm sorry sweetie you had to learn this way, but it is the truth," Arabella walked towards her daughter.
"How?" TJ asked, her eyes turning red.
"Come on. It's a story everyone should know," Arabella said and TJ nodded.
"Tee," A voice said and TJ eyes snapped up to see her best friend. A smile crept on her face and TJ raced towards Nat.
"Nat!" TJ shouted before hugging her best friend tightly who hugged her back.
Arabella smiled, TJ needed Nat, and Asher knew that. She saw Asher smiling at the duo and Arabella couldn't help but feel proud of him. Asher was a unique kid, he loved TJ so much.
"I missed you, Nat," TJ sobbed.
"Hey, No crying okay. Asher told me to come with your parents. Here I am," Nat tried to cheer her up.
"He did?" She asked and Nat nodded. TJ looked at Asher who was smiling at them with his arms crossed against his chest.
"Thank you," TJ mouthed to Asher who just shook his head and motioned them to come there.
"Okay, can anyone explain what is going on here?" It was Dean who said that.
"Yes, Dean. Come on. There is something very important that has to be shared today," Mason said who was standing beside Theodore.
Theodore and Arabella had arrived a few minutes from the portal in the inn.
Alastair told them to be as gentle as they could in telling TJ everything. They had to make sure TJ was in a proper state of mind to fight because it was only her who could make a portal to Void.
Everyone sat on the benches while Theodore and Arabella sat in front like they were the teachers. Only this was no class.
"Let us introduce ourselves, I am Theodore von Stein and this is my wife Arabella. We have been friends with Calista and Dominic since we all were young. Although it is Calista who knows everything best, we know certain things that would be useful to you when you all go to the Void," Theodore started.
"Tell us everything from the start, please," TJ requested and Theodore nodded.
"Jace Storm, the son of Jonathan Storm and Diana Storm...."

Flashback

Jace's father was a Nightcrawler while his mother was an Enchanter healer. Jace had no spark in his hands when he was born so it was declared that he had no powers. Jonathan Storm was a bitter person, who always talked about how he was going to establish a Nightcrawler rule above the Enchanters. Diana had known this fact, but she did not know how much of a manic Jonathan had become until he went rogue. Jonathan started a rebellion with few other Nightcrawlers. It was all in vain when Celestine and Benjamin Delacroix killed them all with the help of Diana and a few elder NIghtcrawlers. It was the only way to stop them and Diana was thankful, but Jace wasn't.
Jonathan had already embedded his bitterness into his that time ten-year-old son who was broken after his father's murder. Jace's powers were discovered much later by his mother when he absorbed her powers to heal himself.
He was 12 then, and still bitter from his father's death. Jace did not have powers of his own, but he could absorb his opponent's powers and use it against them. He could also store their powers, but only for a certain amount of time. He didn't have a spark like the Enchanters but a faint white glow that came from him.Jace was enrolled in Aldcoast High when his powers showed, he was a sharp kid, but a cynic. He met Calista who was the same age as him when he came to know she was Celestine and Benjamin's daughter. Jace devised a plan, he wanted to avenge his father's death and make his dream come true. Even if the Nightcrawlers were not able to rule the Enchanters, he would.
Jace befriended Calista and her friends, As they grew up, Jace understood that Calista liked him more than just a friend.Although Jace knew Calista was innocent and had nothing to do with her parent's brutal massacre of his father, Jace was blinded by revenge. Jace was insecure in some ways, his mother had very easily moved on after his father and he thought maybe Calista would too, but she never lost interest in him.
Jace was always on her mind.Calista was friends with other people besides Jace. Her two best friends were Rue Monroe and Dominic Thorton. While Calista could control all the elements like her father, Dominic was a half combatant from his father's side and half enchanter with the powers of Vortex manipulation from his mother's.
Rue, on the other hand, was a Spellcaster- Shape Shifter hybrid. Dominic was closer to Calista than he was to Rue or Jace, he had other friends. Theodore von Stein was Dominic's best friend apart from Calista who was 5 years younger to him. When they were 17, Jace asked Calista to be his girlfriend and Calista was over the moon. She said yes, of course.
Dominic tried to be happy for her friend but he couldn't, he was in love with Calista since they were 10. Rue, on the other hand, was in love with Dominic. When they graduated, Calista helped her mother run the school when her father died. Dominic became an assistant mentor for a while until he became the Mayor of Aldcoast when his mother retired. Jace and Rue joined as professors.
Jace taught science and portions while Rue was a Spellcaster professor.They were 21 when Jace proposed Calista for marriage. His plan was to kill Calista and Celestine and gain power over Aldcoast. It was the time of summer holidays when Calista decided to surprise Jace with lunch at his office. Rue had gone home for the vacations because her mother was unwell so Calista asked Dominic's help to take it to Jace who was working on a portion for some time. Dominic who happened to visit Calista that day agreed to help her.
He never told her that he loved her because he feared she would distance herself from him. Her obliviousness was better than her ignorance.When they reached Jace's office, Calista and Dominic found him in the laboratory working on something.
They were shocked to see a black portion in the cauldron. Black portions meant dark magic. If a portion is jet black and it doesn't shine, that's dark magic being done.
Although it was a punch in the gut, Calista and Dominic stayed and saw everything.Jace cut his hand and poured his blood in the cauldron.
Then he dipped a crystal ball in it. The ball absorbed the portion and when Jace took it out and placed it in his hands, it shone white, the color of Jace's powers.
Calista and Dominic ran, they stopped when they were sure no one would hear them. Calista couldn't believe what she saw, she was heartbroken but she knew what was right.
She and Dominic planned to check Jace's room and search for anything they can find to prove what he was doing. That night when Jace came back from his laboratory, Calista drugged his wine.
Jace, who wasn't aware that Calista knew his secret, drank the wine and fell asleep for 6 hours. Calista let Dominic in, who was outside Jace's door and they searched for anything they could find.
They found a diary and blueprints and took them to Celestine, Calista's mother. Celestine was furious and ordered the asleep Jace to be thrown into the dungeon they had in the town. When Jace woke up, he was baffled to see himself in prison.
Calista and Dominic told him what they saw and Jace was taken aback. Then he laughed at her and told Calista that he was just using her to rule over the town and the ring he gave her was also a part because it absorbed her energy bit by bit.
Calista threw the ring and it broke releasing all the energy it soaked. Jace told her that he meant to kill Celestine after they married and keep Calista as his pet.
When Calista asked him if he ever loved her. He told her that he didn't. He only had a soft spot for her so he wouldn't kill Calista like he would kill her mother.Celestine after hearing his confession, ordered to sentence him to death, but Calista begged her mother to not kill Jace.
She really loved him and couldn't see him dead. Celestine then ordered him to be locked up in the Void giving in to Calista's plea.
After Jace was gone, Calista focused on running the school while Celestine retired. Dominic would visit her, tried to cheer her up. This lead Calista falling for Dominic. He proposed to her and Calista agreed. They were to marry in a week when the summer vacations ended and Rue returned.
When Rue learned about Jace from Calista, she felt sorry for her. But as soon as she saw Dominic's heritage ring on her finger, Rue was furious.
She accused Calista of robbed Dominic from her when she knew Rue liked Dominic. She accused her in front of everyone when she professed her love for Dominic.
Dominic told her that he never mislead her into believing that he had feelings other than friendship for Rue and it was only Calista he has ever loved. Dominic was blunt into telling that Rue was delirious for believing that Calista would take away Dominic from her when Rue never had him.
He was always Calista's. Rue sobbed and ran away. Calista tried to stop her friend, but Rue ran away before she could do anything.
Calista and Dominic married the day they were set to marry and two years later, Calista was pregnant with a girl.
It was the Annual Illiria Day Ball 1998 and Calista was 9 months pregnant and was due any day. Dominic stayed with her while Celestine announced the Ball open and then joined them.
It was almost two hours after the ball started when there were a blast and an earthquake following it.
Calista, Dominic, and Celestine rushed to the Ballroom to find out that there was a mist all over the room and whoever came in contact with it collapsed and fell unconscious.
Theodore and Arabella too were lying unconscious there. Calista and Dominic made a vortex of wind while Celestine protected them with a light shield. Calista was weak due to her pregnancy, but still, they managed to collect the mist and fill it in a bottle.
Suddenly the mist started disappearing and was absorbed by a crystal ball in the middle of the room.
Then suddenly Jace appeared.
He told everyone who wasn't unconscious that he was successful in escaping from the Void which was now his dimension and home. He announced that he had robbed everyone present in the ballroom from their powers.Calista tried to attack him and Jace was displeased when he saw Celestine, Calista, and Dominic still had their powers.
When he saw that Calista was pregnant and Dominic's family ring on her finger, he called her a cheater and struck her with lightning. Before Dominic or Celestine could protect her, Calista fell back with a cry.
Jace laughed and before Dominic could attack him, Rue appeared and took Jace with her and disappeared with the crystal ball and everyone else's powers.
Calista's cry distracted everyone and she had to be immediately taken to the Healers because she was now having labor pains.
After hours and hours of pain, a baby girl was born, but she had no heartbeat. Calista fainted right after giving birth, her energy slowly draining.
Seeing Dominic distraught at seeing his stillborn daughter and wife in a critical condition, Celestine took the child and Dominic towards the tomb of the Masters.
Celestine prayed to the Master to give the child life while Dominic channeled his energy towards the baby.
After a few minutes, a light engulfed the baby and she cried. She had no spark in her hands.
It was assumed that she had no powers. But they were happy she was alive.Celestine told Dominic to take Calista and the child somewhere no one knows that the child is still alive.
Jace tried to kill Calista and the child once, if he gets to know about the child is alive, he would come for them again.
Dominic took Calista and the baby, who was named Tiffany-Josephine after Master Tiffany and Dominic's late mother Josephine to the human dimension with Theodore and Arabella who were now powerless.
They bought a house and stayed there for a few months until they heard the news of another energy absorption happening in another town nearby Aldcoast.
Calista and Dominic returned while their daughter was safe with Theodore and Arabella.
The council decided that they would attack Jace unannounced in the Void. They took everyone who was good at combating which included Calista and Dominic.
Calista took a promise from Theodore and Arabella to take care of their baby until they both returned. The couple agreed.
It took them 3 months to prepare and plan the attack. A portal to Void was opened through spells and the army of 25 Enchanters and 50 combatants entered.
It was found out that the Void was not making them weak at all.The powers of the Void was absorbed by Jace who with Rue and other prisoners had become so powerful that the army of 75 couldn't stop. They were barely 10, but so powerful that it was futile fighting them.
Many lost their lives, including Celestine Delacroix, who was killed by Jace himself.It was a massacre, the remaining people decided it was better to leave before they lose their lives too.
When they were near the portal, lightning struck Dominic who was trying to protect his wife and he fell away.
Calista ran towards an unconscious Dominic who was bleeding badly but Clara pulled her back. Calista didn't want to leave Dominic dying there, but Jace was hitting them with lightning and fire and energy blasts blocking their way and hurting the people.
Calista was dragged out of the portal before it closed and Dominic was left in the Void.
Everyone believed that Dominic was dead. There was so much loss at Aldcoast that Calista decided to stay there and rebuild the whole town again.
She went back to Theodore and Arabella telling them everything that had happened. She told them that it was not certain if Jace would return or not and she can't risk Tiffany's life.
So she asked them to adopt her, as she was too a human like them. She won't know about Iiliria and her real parents.
When she's old enough, Calista would tell her about it and then Tiffany and can choose if she wants human life or wants to see what Iliiria is.
Jace didn't attack until two years later when he attacked a town in Italy absorbing the whole town's powers. There was no way to get back the powers which were lost.
Spells were tried, portions were tested but nothing happened. No one ever got their powers back.
